  In 2018, I hired Fix8 Media, a ***********-recommended service provider, to help set up my website, *****************. Our work concluded that same year, and I have had no dealings with Fix8 Media since.On January 8, 2025, **** ****** from Fix8 Media emailed me stating they were ending their partnership with ***********. She asked if I would like to transfer ownership of my website back to me for a $250 fee.I asked for documentation supporting this request. **** ****** admitted there was no contractual agreement. Concerned, I contacted *********** directly. They confirmed that, as the paying customer, I already owned the website. *********** transferred my account to me without ********************* involvement or ****** Complaint:After six years without contact, Fix8 Media demanded a $250 website transfer fee with no contractual basis. **** ****** implied my website would be shut down if I didnt pay, which would have severely disrupted my business. This is an unethical business practice akin to extortion.Desired Resolution:A formal written apology from Fix8 Media acknowledging their inappropriate actions.A commitment to cease this practice and notify customers of their ownership rights.Potential compensation for the stress and time spent resolving this matter.Fix8 Medias actions are misleading and could cause significant harm to others if not addressed.

  Fix8 Media, having had an active *********** account since 2007, made the decision at the end of 2024 to close down our *********** account, per our accounting team's recommendation, so we did not require having a resource maintain this account and the websites we own within the account, as we are no longer building new websites in the *********** platform. All websites owned by **** were started under a special *********** ************* program, that entitled our agency to start and own the websites that came with special benefits, features, and discounted pricing, including a free 6-month trial which didn't require any hosting payments for the first 6 months, which were passed through to our clients. In fact, *** ***** took advantage of these features, including the discounted hosting. All clients for whom **** retained ownership of their websites were contacted on 1/3/25 and informed of our plans to close down our account in mid-January, with the option to have ownership transferred to them, as Fix8 Media owns the websites. Accounting charged $250 to transfer ownership and no longer monitor and maintain these accounts at our agency. 
  We find it unfortunate that *** ***** escalated this issue based on the above clear explanation of the facts. Having been in business for 15 years, this is the first time we've had such a complaint. Given that we bill $150/hour and this has already cost us more than $250, accounting has canceled the invoice and, per *** ******* request, our team will no longer communicate with her.
