Colson Sprinkler and Landscaping did work for me between May and August 2024 but then walked away from a system that was 95% finished. They left me with a broken connection spraying water from the pump because their work failed three times in the same place and they refused to fix it. The Colson men, father and two sons, are very capable and did good work for me when they replaced an old, broken line from the lake to my irrigation system. But when they proceeded to connect the new pipe to the sprinklers, their fittings broke three times at the water pump. The first time, it broke because they failed to install an elbow fitting that was needed to relieve the pressure from the stiff black roll pipe as they bent it into position. The fitting broke after a few days of use. The next break at the water pump happened when they replaced a leaking *** joint and then tried to rotate the *** line around the water pump fitting so that it would line up with the sprinkler line. The third failure occurred when they did a poor job of anchoring the new fitting into the water pump and it broke at the pump. At that point, Colsons manager, ****** Colson, abandoned the project, We are booked six weeks out on repairs. We will be unable to assist you. It was an easy fix to reinstall the connection; my engineer neighbor did it for me in ten minutes. But ****** was done; she couldnt be bothered because it was taking too much time away from their service calls that always took precedence. So, Colson walked away from my job that lasted from May 24 until it was fixed on Sept. 2. The men get a top rating of 5 for their work, but the company gets the lowest rating of 1; they cant be trusted. Be ready to pay big dollars; their charge for labor at $180 per hour is way above what other companies in the business charge. I wont use them again.

****** Zinc.  A new client to our company this year and referred by her neighbor who we've maintained his sprinkler successfully for many years.  ****** has an old pump system and the first service call found that the pump had gotten clogged with debris from the pond where they pull water which that debris broke the pump.

****** was very difficult to please.  She routinely  complained and refused to pay invoices in full for services rendered and wanted to negotiate the price after the work had been completed.  She was always demanding, in a rush and needing to be moved up to the front of the line and was not patient.

Here is her final text to me on August 18th:

"We returned from a road trip on Friday(I turned off the irrigation system while we were gone because I didn't trust it) and turned the irrigation system on for Saturday's watering. The picture shows the result...another failure of your repairs.  We clean that filter every few days and it's always clogged.  You replaced my much larger existing filter that I only cleaned once every two months for 10 years with no problem.  That dinky little filter that you have in there may be putting too much pressure on your fittings. This is getting ridiculous for this many failures from claimed experts like yourself.  You need to consider a larger filter for my system.  Expecting an 85-year old to be out there every two days cleaning that filter is just a bad idea.  Don't you agree?  Let's fix this once and for all. "

We do maintain numerous pump systems successfully.  We felt in this particular case she would be perhaps better served by someone else.

At one emergency service call, which she was not charged for, ****** and her neighbor stood there and while watching the pump insisted it was spinning backwards.  It was not spinning backwards.

This is America and contractors choose the client as much as clients choose the contractor.
