  I have contacted ***** *****, owner of Saffron And Honey, a catering business at the beginning of September. I was looking for a chef/ caterer for a wine pairing dinner I was organizing. I knew Shadi, we talked earlier during the summer as I was looking for a chef for a client of mine to cater an event for them. Shadi was really nice and very responsive and then I left the organization to the venue. This event was scheduled on 9/17/24. Shadi told me we had to make a decision really fast because she has somebody asking for the same ******* the meantime I contacted her for another event planned for 10/28/24. Same Shadi was really nice and responsive to phone calls, texts and emails. She told me I had to make a decision fast because she had an inquiry for the same date (I have already heard that and she is really busy, and a Monday Night!). I decided to work with her and ask me for a deposit, $720 that I paid on 9/9/24. After I sent the deposit Shadi was way less responsive. First I asked for her logo for communication and marketing, she has never sent it, then I asked her for a contract, she has never sent it. I attended the event she catered for my client on 9/17/24. The food was not what I expected and was really disappointed as well as the owners of the venue. So I decided I didn't not want to work with her anymore for my event on 10/28/24 for the lack of communication, food was not a good fit for my event, and lack of trust due to a lack of contract. So I informed Shadi of my decision and asked her for a refund of my deposit. She doesn't want to refund me and offered a credit, it's not what I want because I don't want to work with her anymore.I had to hire a new chef/caterer, pay another deposit, but this time I have a contract at least. I hope you can help me with getting my deposit back, as a small business owner every ***** counts. And I think it's a very unhealthy way to run a business and other people should know. I found her through ****.
