I had front suspension issue on my car as it was creating a weird noise. To fix my car, I went to Midas and they inspect it. Below is the link to the car inspection they did on Aug 1, 2024. Gurpreet, the inspection on your ***** from Midas of ******** is ready at ************************************************* Upon inspection, I was told that they will charge me 2200 USD and your car will not make any noise front suspension. They advised me to leave the car and collect it on the following day to which I replied that I do not have that kind of money to spend. The manager, Scott advised me that I do not have to pay right now, I can pay later. He explained that Midas has a program called pay later in which they apply for credit under my name using my credentials. On the same day, they applied my credit on Koalafi and Midas. Koalafi pre approved me for 4000 USD and Midas approved me the credit card with 700 USD limit. Next morning, I got a call from Scott (Manager) stating they need extra 1600 USD to address the wheel hub noise. If you do the repair half, we will not guarantee our work because you are not ready to address the wheel bearing issues. They manipulated everything in such a way, I had no choice to say yes. I was so dumb, I didn't realize that they had an eye on my pre approved combined credit limit of 4700 USD. They wanted to rob 3800 USD from me. I went there again Aug 16, 2024 to get my car inspected for the same issue. Below is the link to the car inspection they did on Aug 16, 2024. Gurpreet, the inspection on your ***** from Midas of ******** is ready at ************************************************* Upon inspection, I was asked to pay 654 USD more to fix the same issue because they need to change the engine mounts on my car. I paid them 3800 USD already to fix the noise from the front suspension. As a deal, it was promised to me that whatever needs to be changed they do that in 3800 USD and they will guarantee their work for 1 year.Initial Complaint

I called the Midas to schedule and apt to have my vehicle service 4/13/2029. Prior to me confirming the appointment I inform the front desk manager Tyler that I would be going through my extended warranty informing me that they honor extended warranty’s. I informed Tyler what issue the vehicle was having and he assured me they do 50 ****** a month so it wouldn’t be an issue. I picked my vehicle up 4/30/2024 from the Midas Auto service location in ***********. Upon completion of service Tyler informed me they do not service request until paid in full by the warranty company. So I request to have the service station send a copy to the warranty company since they could not turn over to me. About a two weeks later I return the truck to Midas informing them the vehicle was still overheating…they took the vehicle again for service and said they could flush radiator again but there is no known reason who vehicle should still be over heating. About 5 days later I pick vehicle up and took it to ******* **** they looked a vehicle and informed me they don’t do engine or transmission work. So I then brought the truck to ***** ***** in *** ******* ** and the informed me because Midas used the incorre** engine coolient the vehicle engine was damaged and they are not going to do the work on my truck do to negligence and not used the required engine coolient. I have had the vehicle since February it has been in the shop longer than my possession. I would just like me truck to be repaired and Midas pay the cost to have it done properly since the negligence was a result of poor mechanical maintenance pra**ice. Lastly no one has called be back or reached out to me after reaching out to the auto center to speak with store management over 5 different occasebBusiness response

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Midas regarding my recent experience with their services. I believe this matter requires your intervention to ensure a fair resolution. The details of my complaint are as follows: 1. Description of the Issue: On 12/23/2023, I brought my vehicle to Midas for repairs due to a misfire and a recurring check engine light. Midas conducted a diagnostic test and performed various repairs. 2. Subsequent Ford Dealership Inspection: After encountering persistent issues, I sought a second opinion from a Ford dealership. The inspection uncovered the following: Incorrect spark plug installation (*** plug *********), unsuitable for my vehicle. Missing caliper spring plate, a critical component not reinstalled during the previous work by Midas. Recommendation for OEM plugs to address the random misfire issue. 3. Requested Resolution: I have attempted to resolve this matter with Midas directly but have been unable to reach a satisfactory resolution. I am seeking the following remedies: Refund of $1,200 for the incorrect work conducted by Midas. Refund of the $550 diagnostic test fee incurred at the Ford dealership. Compensation for time and inconvenience, including multiple visits to Midas and the Ford dealership, resulting in time off work. 4. Communication Attempts: Despite my efforts to address this matter with Midas, the issue remains unresolved. I have documented relevant communication attempts, which I am willing to provide for your review. 5. Attached Documentation: I have attached supporting documentation, including diagnostic test results from the Ford dealership and any relevant communication with Midas. I kindly request your assistance in mediating this dispute and facilitating a fair resolution. Your intervention will be greatly appreciated in ensuring that Midas addresses the concerns raised and provides the appropriate remedies.Initial Complaint

I visited the Midas for a bumper repair/replacement and 4 tires on June 8, 2023. It took an entire month for the bumper to come in. Once they put the bumper in, it was not the correct bumper and completely different. It now has been 5 months later, and I’m still driving around with missing pieces. I also got tires and the tires are used and not good. I would like a refund or at least a deduction in the price total. I paid $2398.54. I have tried to resolve this with them numerous times and they keep giving me the run around and telling me they are waiting for parts.Initial Complaint

I brought my car to this shop multiple times for the same issue, and I feel like they kept on trying to sabotage my car. I don't feel like bringing my car back here again because i feel like they're going to try to sabotage and send me out again with a faulty fixes to have me bring the car back there again especially after writing this complaint. I have a more detailed description of what happened and my encounters with this shop in the pdf file linked to the complaint. Also, i wrote down what I would believe will be the best solution to resolve this issue. The web links provided down below shows videos of my complaint that they can't excuse themselves from. I've only drove this car over a thousand miles since getting it back. And there's pictures to prove so in the photos. ************************************************************************************************************************************ ************************************************************************************************************************************ ************************************************************************************************************************************ ************************************************************************************************************************************ ************************************************************************************************************************************ ************************************************************************************************************************************Customer response

Brought my truck in for service due to overheating. They replaced the entire cooling system and also an oil leak. Told me my engine is like new. $3500. Drove off and within 5 miles my check engine light goes on. Also the truck shutdown to protect the engine. Still able to drive in limp mode I brought it back. They told me I needed a brand new engine. and quoted me over the phone a price of $8200. I said no and brought it to a different shop. Which they fixed the problem that Midas never did. They had to redo all their work and they found oil and coolant in my engine. I also had to purchase a new cooling fan because the one I had didn’t work. This is a also after Midas said they replaces my whole cooling system. This shop also found things that were discontinued that should of been connected after Midas preformed work. That is why my truck went into limp mode. To have everything fixed cost me another $3000. Never needing a new engine.Initial Complaint

Service was on 9/19/23. I brought my vehicle there because they were the only mechanics available to see my vehicle the same day. My car had died that morning and *** brought me an emergency battery. Later that day my vehicle died again with no power and could not identify the problem. Had it towed to midas and they checked my vehicle and claimed that the only thing it could be is the alternator. Which seemed strange because the year of my car shouldn't need replacement yet. Unfortunately my warranty was up and I paid out of pocket to fix the issue. When alternator was replaced I received a call that it still wasn't working so they installed a new battery and now it works. It shouldn't have needed a new battery, but they said that the alternator had drained the one I just had replaced that morning. So, I ended up paying $2,367.84. Less than 4 hours later my vehicle left myself and two kids stranded with no power. Luckily I made it to the side of the road to get out of traffic. I had to wait for *** to tow my vehicle back to midas so they can find out what they did incorrectly. Come to find out if was the terminal that needed to be fixed. They tried to get me to pay $400 more to fix it again. I said no. I had it taken to a new mechanic and they said that the entire problem was completely misdiagnosed and it literally only needed to have the terminal fixed. Which was a $10, TEN DOLLAR, part and only took one hour to fix. They tested the previous *** battery I had bought the day before and said that it was good. So I paid for an alternator, another new battery and a ton of labor for no reason. I just want my money back. That was money that I had to borrow due to their misdiagnosis. If this cannot be resolved through the BBB then I WILL be bringing this issue to court with a lawyer.Initial Complaint

I had transmission work done in Dec 2022 that was faulty because the wrong bolts were attached to my car. In March 2023 I was out of state with my child and the car shut off while I was driving. I had the vehicle towed to a local shop and they told me the issue was because of incorrect bolts on the transmission and further work needed to be done. I has filed a complaint with Midas customer relations and a regional VP named Tyler P******** reached out. He made me think and the local shop that has my car currently that everything would be handled and that all he need was a quote for the wprk to be done. We are now a week later and Tyler has not reach out or followed up with me or the other mechanics. My car is not only noto ups but it is in another state and I am not equipped to move it myself. I want Midas to pay for the work that needs to be done where the car is currently. I am unable to get in contact with another supervisor which has resulted in this complaint.Business response

I had my front transfer case supposedly properly repaired and it seems that either the part was defective or improperly installed per pep boys as I had to have it repaired again through my insurance company in under the warranty time frame of the first installation. I was told by Midas that they weren't going to redo the job of the transfer case unless I bought new tires from them because they needed to be all the same brand of tires. The tires I had on were all the same sizes ordered through and approved by my dealership where I purchased the vehicle. So now Midas is paid twice for the same job that wasn't properly fixed the first time (Front transfer case)and then forced me to pay an additional $1000 that I had to borrow for tires that I didn't need. I am a single parent of two working part time struggling with health issues every single day to make a living off almost nothing and should not had been forced to buy tires upon a faulty job that they messed up. My tire brands had nothing to do with my transfer case going for a second time as I explained to the person at Midas. Not every single vehicle on the road has all the same brand tires and I doubt is losing a transfer case. It doesn't logically make sense. I would like a refund of my money as I shouldn't have been forced to buy tires from there that wasn't needed but yet they still got paid twice for the transfer case also which was still under warranty of parts and labor of 2 years or 24000 miles according to the corporate office which I didnt exceed either. Unbelievable nightmare indeed. I shouldn't have had to buy tires from them just so they could make up something to try and cover the fact that something went wrong with the first installation of the transfer case. My tires were good as I take my travel very seriously for me and my kids safety. I was told to that even if I needed a spare one day in the future that it would have to be the same brand as the others. I've been driving for a very long time and know that isn't true.
