            We hired CT Metal Railings/Chad Fisher to fabricate and install a metal railing and hand rail for our new home. We paid our 50% deposit in December 2021 and planned an installation date to be determined by the construction time line of our new home. After many cancellations and reschedules he came to our home March 3rd to install our railing and handrail. While installing he damaged our slate tile floor and a door located at the bottom of the stairs. He also did not build the railing and hand rail to code. When we pointed out the issues about it not being to code he agreed to come back to try to fix some of the issues. He came back March 6th to look at the issues we had said we were concerned with and while he was there my husband showed him the damage he had caused. He abruptly left our home without fixing the issues. After he left he proceeded to send us threats of liens being placed on our property due to non payment, insults and demands for payment even though the project was not finished and his contract stated we had 10 days after project completion to pay the remaining 50%. We had an inspection on March 9th and the railing and hand rail did not pass the inspection needed for us to obtain our CO (certificate of occupancy). We sent him an email going over our concerns and referred to his contract language about payment, code compliance and reiterating our concern about the damage he caused when he dropped the handrail. He replied with more threats and insults . We now are faced with the possibility of a lien being placed on our property for a job that was not completed, caused us to delay taking occupancy of our new home and additionally caused damage to our brand new floors and door.
