I canceled my Anytime Fitness Gym membership in person on October 15th, 2023 with access to the gym until November 13th, 2023. I had a remainder of $53.16 left on my account I continued to be charged throughout the months of February. Confused, I called the gym multiple times and followed-up via the attached documented email, for which I also added the ************ *** email. I was refunded the partial amount of 106.32 in March of 2024. However, the company continues to charge me until this day despite being re-addressed multiple times with the Club manager, Dave ******. He has assured me multiple times that "he will take care of it" or "will let you know later on in the day". Unfortunately I still have not heard back from them for multiple months as I continue to reach out. Attached are the provided documentations of: 1. Proof of cancellation. 2. Email communication documentation. 3. Bank account charges/refunds. I will continue to push on this topic until I am fully refunded and my account is removed from their charging system.

My son had a membership with Anytime Fitness that was paid monthly through a direct withdrawal from my checking account. He was moving away for college and no longer wanted or needed a local gym membership. My son sent a certified letter to Anytime Fitness stating that he was moving and cancelling his membership. The letter was dated June 19, 2023 and mailed that week. In July I was charged for his membership. I spoke to the manager who confirmed that he had received the letter and informed me that the membership would be canceled 30 days from receiving the letter, so that it was in their rights to charge for July. I agreed and assumed the matter was settled. Then a direct withdrawal from Anytime Fitness was taken in August. I contacted my bank, who put in a claim to get the money refunded and changed my card, to prevent further withdrawals. I also contacted the local police, who advised me that many people have to cancel debit and credit cards to stop gym membership fees. My son is now at college, and received a late payment notice from Anytime Fitness. When I tried to call and speak to someone the robo phone just continuously asked for more information. Anytime Fitness is a very hard company to deal with. Their website does not give clear instructions on how to cancel, and tells you to contact your local gym. The gym in *********** gives hours for when staff is on duty but they are never there. I feel that this location should be looked into for nefarious practices.

    Good Morning,

We thought the membership was cancelled. We made a mistake, and we have been in contact with Mrs. *******, before. We didn't even have time to respond to her phone call before this complaint was filed. Her son had been happily going here, and we are staffed with management five days a week. We will correct our mistake, and reach out to her with confirmation, but I still don't understand the negative comments. My interactions with her have always been pleasant, and we have never had any problems.

Last November, I answered an ad for Anytime Fitness. I was advised that the price would be reasonable, but after I signed the agreement and went to a personal training session, I noticed that the bill was higher than I understood, and the document I signed was unclear. I asked to be removed from the club and get a refund twice in person and once over the phone, also trying in good faith to contact the company headquarters. The Anytime Fitness company headquarters redirected me to the local gym. I contacted them by phone again, but they continue to charge my card bi-weekly. I am very displeased with their deceptive business practices and poor customer service.

    Good Morning!

Last fall, Mr. ******** joined Anytime Fitness for membership, and a two week personal training experience. He had three business days to cancel the membership, per ** law. During the training experience, he had used the sessions with the idea that at the end of two weeks, he would either stay with the training, or downgrade to just the membership. He came to his initial sessions, but after a week or two, he expressed that the training might not fit his budget. We then downgraded him to just our base membership. Shortly, thereafter, he reached out saying that his wife hadn't paid some bills that they were responsible for, and wanted to cancel the whole thing. I told him he was passed his window to cancel, but offered to put him on billing freeze, until he cleared up his hardship. He then showed up here, threw his membership key on my desk, and left before I could even speak to him. I have not heard from him since. I am still confused by his behavior, as he liked the club, and knew he needed it to improve his health. Everything was clearly explained, and we wanted to get him on track. We would love for him to come back and get reacclimated with his program.
