After finding water in our crawlspace around March of 2023 we were referred to Sparkle Lake services to help solve the problem. The contractor drained the water out of the crawlspace and installed a sump pump at the entrance to the crawlspace. The sump pump was then attached to a long pipe that went under our yard and emptied out into a marsh behind our house. A large rock was placed at the end of the pipe and the yard area where the pipe is was backfilled with debris, roots, and other garbage, making it look awful and next to impossible to mow. Afterwards the contractor offered to check out the septic system (in close proximity to the work area already being done). As a new homeowner and someone new to the area I took him up on the offer. My family and I had not moved into the home yet and showed up on the day they were attempting to fix the leeching field. When i arrived at the property I saw 4-6 crew, a mini excavator, and a completely crushed leeching field. After admitting that he didn't know what to do, the contractor offered to call someone else that worked for him that "knew more about septics" but at that point the damage was done and at the recommendation of my father in law (the previous homeowner) I told the crew to cover the hole and leave. Since the work, the crawlspace continues to flood, and the septic drainage has gotten worse. The pipe attached to the sump pump is usually fully submerged in the marsh (especially when it rains and is needed the most). After fully moving into our house and talking to a number of other contractors and friends we discovered that the work Sparkle Lake Services performed was done incorrectly and extremely overpriced. I contacted the business to voice my concerns and was told that there was nothing that I could do and after I signed the estimate I was out of luck. The sump pump also leaves standing water in it during even the dryest of months which attracts mosquitos and other bugs.
