Wife park in front of building to walk old lady in left car running since she was coming back within the minute. In hartford. To install dolly for all wheel drive take more than a minute. Even people telling the tow guys she's coming back he went ahead and towed car. She did park illegally I give you that. But you towed a car that was still running. I'm assuming on 2 wheels because it was to fast to install dolly. Damages will come later since they not Goin to show up right away. U guys would not release car since I had forgotten to re-register the car I understood and work all day to register it but kicker is that needed to go through emissions which you kindly offer to do it great. But car towed before 10 you guys run it after 3 find patience is a virtue I can see pass the wait. But your words was hurry because you u close at 415 . I say you serious I'm waiting all day for you guys now I have to hurry. word (it is what it is ) I was ok what ever . Got on it ready to go 330 called you was sending wife in Uber another 40 dollars but since your 45 minute away I called and ask because she was going to get there 5 or 10 minutes after 415 can't predict trafic one of your guys said it's cool just come. All right let's go. Wife got there 432 who ever met her said you guys close at at 430 we had to pay another 50 dollars for after hours. For 2 minutes. I offer guy 20 if waive the fee he said he waive storage fee all ready. I guess thank you. Beginging guy verry condensing toward Uber guy after 5 minutes I guess calm down. I understand with different kind of people you guys deal with but not all of us are bad apples. I dont understand why a hartford complex have you towing all the way to oackdale the miles at 5 $ brings bill 160 right away. 420 was ballance 125 hook up 20 emissions thank u 50 after hours fee around 25 tax that leaves 200 in miles 29 miles first 2 free 200 ÷27 =7?? A mile Is my math wrong can't look at charges did not give me receipt . Not saying bad or good. You guys decideReview from Ben D

Towed my car illegally!! I was visiting my friend at his apartment complex. I parked in a visitor spot, and they towed my car...from a visitor spot... Charged me $300 in cash to release it. When I asked the reason why it was towed they said because it was parked "head in".Review from Amy S

This place does not even deserve 1 star. My son was in a single car accident on 2/13/24 during a major snow storm. He suffered no injuries (Thank God) and called AAA. When the State Police arrived, the officer said that he dispatched out "his plow guy". Despite my son telling the officer that AAA was 10 mins away, his "plow guy" showed up. Without asking my son where he wanted the car to be towed to, he was informed by the tow driver that it "had to go to his yard" and be looked at. He then dropped my son off at a nearby Cumberland Farms and told him to "figure out a way home and have a hot cup of coffee". My son asked how much (estimate) this would cost, and the drivers response was "I dont know". I then had to travel 25 miles in the snow storm to get my son left stranded at a Cumberland Farms. I also called MyHoopty to let them know that I did not want the car to "be looked at", that we would make arrangements to have the car picked up. The very rude man John told me he would not release the car unless it was looked at and proceeded to say "look lady, we are in the middle of a snow storm right now, I can't deal with you" I wished him a great day- and hung up. Fast forward to 2/14/24- called to inquire about the car. My son was told it would cost him 800.00 to release the car. The kicker CASH ONLY. Despite their website stating that they accept all credit cards. When questioned about the discrepancy, the very rude John said "listen lady that's just our policy. Arrives to pick up car- refused at the door because they were "about to leave for lunch" My son had to wait over an hour for them to finish their own lunch to get his car back (that was completely drivable by the way) So, here how this is legal. Apparently, there is not a state law with a "cap" to charge for labor. WIth that, Myhoopty scams customers to pay an outrageous amount of money- CASH ONLY. My son pays for AAA and showed up 10 mins after myHoopty did but was refused by the officer and tow driver.MyHoopty.com, LLC Response

I recently had my car towed home after it sat at his place of business in a fenced in area with no trespassing sigs.My car was ransacked and my tools we stolen and all he could say to me it was not his responsibility and I was out of luck.I know it took the thieves some time to get at and find all the tools that were taken so I honestly think it was him or one of his workers ..just sad. I've lived in town my whole life and know quite a few people in town and this business has a horrible reputation I wish I had neve used his services.Review from Cynthia G

This place really sucks. These people have no business being in business. I have to agree with the one star reviewers. Horrible experience, I almost want to move from where I'm living as long as the landlord is contracted with these poor mindless indecent shells of human beings. Very rude and nasty. I really tried to not give a star at all, that's how awful this business is. They really stressed me out, caused me more money than the 336.00 in cash I had to pay. I haven't been staying at my home since this incident; worried they may tow my car at any given moment. I haven't been able to sleep at home because I'm always checking to see if my car has been towed or not. Then, they are rude on the phone, very condescending and purely awful. These people has caused me so much emotional distress.Review from Paul B

Let me start by saying, there is a special place in **** for a fake reverend that makes a fortune victimizing the poor, My Hoopty's owner, Michael ***** take pleasure in all things that target poor black and brown people. He regularly comes to our complex (********* *******) . He has a deal with the owner *** ******** to terrorize his tenants and retaliate against them when needed by towing their cars. He has actually hit me with his tow truck. The Landlord he does all the work for owns roughly 90 properties in CT alone. he sent an awful, sexually explicit email to my wife that i couldn't post here but would send with all the awful, racist stuff he posted on ******** when John Lewis, the civil rights leader, died. feel free to contact me. **** * ***************Review from Brendaimar M

Went to the premises and paid the required fee as request in cash provided a copy of both my drivers license and my daughters who was referred to as kiddo when she first arrived (disrepectful at least ask a person can assist you or how can I help you). The "supervisor" had me sign for the release of my car we gave him the keys and he took it sweet time retrieving the vehicle. Down where the car is at there is a no trespassing sign this is where there is room enough to turn the car around, instead the car was backed up the driveway which consisted of a hill and thrown in park no e-brake was put on and my parking tag for the second time was removed from the vehicle by the supervisor. Nothing at no point should have been removed from my personal property which is my vehicle that is stealing, the supervisor attempted to close me out pulled down the garage door but I walked into the office area. I called the ********* police and pretty much they validated his wrong with removing anything from my car. If I had removed anything from the office I am sure I would have been arrested or told I was stealing. Since when is it right for a tow company to remove anything from within someone's personal vehicle. HOW is that right? Once the police was there the supervisor wanted to talk to me. No thank you, you attempted to disregard anything I had to say prior trying to close me out by shutting the garage door which was open the whole time until I approached the door. Rude, disrespectful, heartless, arrogant, unprofessional, scammers, unethical, unorganized, their license should definitely be revoked. They need to be investigated thoroughly!!MyHoopty.com, LLC Response

** ****** We are so sorry you were towed for violating the complex rules not once but twice.. As you are aware this is the second time this car was towed. The first time the vehicle was towed was because it displayed no permit at all. To that end you, screamed , yelled and lied to the property manager and then you and a male that obviously wasn't brought up right, came to our facility to redeem the vehicle, screamed and yelled at our staff insisting there was a permit in the car even though there wasn't. You then changed your story that the vehicle was parked in visitors, which would have been a violation anyway. This time, you had one of our permits that we own, turned in reversed to obscure the date which was expired in December of 2021. That permit was invalid. We do have a right to revoke any permit, and confiscate our permits. You then called the police and became 'woke' with your rants and raves because you wanted to retain our property. Despite all of this, we were cordial and attempted to help you. Now in our opinion, based on the content of the circumstances surrounding your tows, your actions and your review language, it is very clear to us that you act like a person who was not brought up right and doesn't seem to like to follow the rules and moreover would likely blame someone else for your bad behavior. The car was parked facing down the alternate driveway exit because traffic does not slow down and the property owner next door does not maintain his hedges. Due to those two things, some drivers may have a difficult egress either with the speed of the vehicles or the overgrown hedges obscuring the sightline. We think we are being good stewards of public safety caring about our customers no matter how abusive they are, you obviously take offense to kindness we offer someone even when that someone has "the stupid tow guy towed me for my bad behavior because he is a thief derangement syndrome". The bottom line is that you failed to display a valid permit in an area designated parking for properly permitted Residents, not once but twice. The parking policy of the Complex includes but is not limited to requiring all Residents who park on the premises to obtain and display a valid permit which is specific for that vehicle. The enforcement of their parking policy protects all tenants' right and ability to park their registered-lawful vehicles near their apartment. It also affords the property owner to control the use of their property including but not limited substantially stopping illegal activities such as theft, prostitution, illegal drug sales and illegal drug use which in turn makes the Community a better place for all residents While we recognize a consumer's frustration with being towed for violating the Complex Parking Policies, we do encourage all Residents to follow the rules instituted by the Property Owners to avoid being towed. We suggest that you reach out to the management office to obtain the proper parking permit in order to lawfully park on the premises and stop writing reviews with an irrelevant dinosaur like the Better Business Bureau In closing, ignorance is an achievement. Thank you for that gentle reminder. Sincerely, JUST ANOTHER AMERICA FIRST PERSON <3Customer Response

As myhoopty would come back with a very unprofessional and inappropriate response it is expected from a very unprofessional whole in the wall. I cannot even call it an establishment. How is it that EVERYONE is wrong and they are always right and respond as the victim. To stoop as low as to even say something about a person as to who they are as an individual and they have no clue. Typical victim mentality and speaks to the lack of professionalism. Yes the police was called for intervention at this point myhoopty wanted to talk. I left as explained before because I needed to go to my chemotherapy appointment nothing more or less. Good example of another business gone wrong opened in America that should be shut down. I have nothing to say to a person's upbringing like you all will and so freely do but again myhoopty feel so privileged to do so and never mentioned any errors. #badbusiness #judgementalReview from Samantha B

Very condescending and rude. Even when the customer genuinely has a bad experience with them or leaves them a review Michael Festa (the owner) will respond attacking the person's character, insulting people's intelligence, and making subtle threats. I had to get a police escort to pick up my permit because he threatened to have me "get closer to God." This is completely unnecessary and unprofessionalMyHoopty.com, LLC Response

******* lets be honest, first of all a one star review by someone identifying themselves as "******** was left because we were closed for the holiday. We suggested that person was acting Godless for not observing our right to honor Good Friday. Secondly, no one has come here with a police escort to obtain a permit and a police escort would not be required. There was one very bad actor that kicked in a window and was banned from our premises and required a Police Escort to come back to our facility. Neither you nor anyone else that peacefully enters our premises with the limited license to obtain a permit or motor vehicle is in danger at anytime. We recognize you may not like the way we respond to frivolous complaints but a person reaps what they sow. If a person wants to dialog about a genuine problem we are here to help. We will not however tolerate any type of bad review behavior because someone perceives being closed for a holiday, closed after business hours or getting their vehicle towed because they violated the property owners terms to park on the premises as somehow being treated badly. Our customers love us. Haters and non conformists don't and frankly we are ok with that. We don't generally like to do business with people who somehow don't take responsibility for their actions. We are proud of the hard work we do to turn complexes around making communities better and safer places. People that were brought up right recognize that. People that missed the important lessons in life don't. Maybe perhaps you should find a more legitimate cause in life to help people like finding a cure for world hunger or giving a shelter pet a forever home. You might just find some beauty in life instead of ugliness in these lets go ******* ****** Perhaps a little time of reflection will help you determine whether and to what extent you need self improvement.MyHoopty.com, LLC Response

And just to be clear, here was your review and response: ******* ****** 3 reviews 2 days ago NEW Asking about picking up my permit, sent 2 emails and no response. So if I never get time to pick it up, oh well I asked twice. DO YOUR JOB AND MAYBE AMSWER EMAILS THE 1ST TIME. REPORTING. Uh you're welcome. Rudeness was so uncalled for people will mistake you for Godless 3 Response from the owner 2 days ago "******** we are so sorry that you failed to observe Good Friday. Stop posting dumb one star reviews. People may think you are acting like a person who may be well Godless. In turn, God has a way of these little unpleasant wake-up calls to get such people to draw closer to Him. Uh, your welcome." PS: ITS ANSWER not AMSWER
