In May of 2022 I went to modern tire with a flat and had them install 4 brand new tires on my 2015 ***** ****. Two days ago i went to our new mechanic as we relocated to get some general maintenance done and was advised that my tires are from 2014! That isn't correct as i put new tires on in 2022? SO i called Modern tire and was advised they sold me "out of date tires" in 2022 cause they wanted to. They advised they gave me a "discount" on them at that time. I NEVER authorized them to put expired (8 year old tires) on my car nor would have EVER authorized such an option. As of today they will only give me points on my account and not correct this situation. I currently relocated across the county so points mean nothing to me when I am 2,000 miles away. They should either pay to put new tires on my car now cause these are not safe or they should refund me completely.

I am writing in response to the concerns you raised regarding your tire purchase from Modern Tire in May 2022. We genuinely appreciate your feedback and want to address the situation to ensure your satisfaction.

First and foremost, we apologize for any misunderstanding that may have arisen from your recent experience. Our intention is always to provide clear and transparent service to our valued customers, and we regret any confusion that may have occurred.

We would like to clarify that the tires you purchased from us were new and met the necessary safety standards at the time of sale. We acknowledge that the manufacturing date of the tires may have been a point of concern, and we understand that some customers prefer tires with more recent manufacturing dates. As part of our commitment to customer satisfaction, we offered a 50% discount on the tires as a reflection of their manufacturing date.

Considering your dissatisfaction and to address this matter in a fair and reasonable manner, we would like to propose a solution. We understand that your current location poses logistical challenges for an in-person resolution. As such, we are willing to prorate the cost of the tires based on the mileage you have used since the purchase. This means that we will calculate the value of the tires used, deduct that amount from the original purchase price, and provide you with an appropriate refund. This way, you will only be charged for the value of the tires you have utilized.

Regarding our initial offer of points, we understand that this might not have been communicated as effectively as we had hoped. Our intent was based on our understanding, at that time, that you would be returning to the area where our store is located. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

We value your business and strive to ensure your satisfaction.
We would like to discuss the details of the prorated refund to your original credit card used at the time of purchase.
Please let us know here or if you would email ******************************** with your new contact information.
We will contact you on Thursday August 17th, 2023 or as soon as we receive your response to process the refund.
We hope that this resolution demonstrates our commitment to resolving this matter in a satisfactory manner.

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to address this issue.

I will respond here and the email provided:

I would appreciate my money back but you could also send 4 new tires. I got the tires at around 86,000 miles and I am at 93,000 miles. I was never informed nor asked if i was okay with your practice. I felt there was deception at play that day. You didn't want to eat the cost of these old tires sitting in your storage and you opted to put them on my vehicle cause they fit. I never asked the cost cause i had a bunch of maintenance done on my car that day but you were deceptive in hiding this supposed "discount" that i never noticed when i paid. I also informed you that i relocated and you advised that you couldn't help me unless i came and points were my option option. There was no confusion you didn't want to prevent an alternative when i asked for refund or new tires.

I am not comfortable giving my CC information on a public forum so i will email you directly as you requested but I want a refund so i can go get new tires as these are not safe being 9 years old.

    thank you,

I brought my vehicle this morning to Modern Tire in ***** ****. I supplied 4 each new wheels, snow tires, and TPMS sensors. I wanted the new tires, sensors, and wheels mounted on my car for the winter months. When dropping off my car, I asked if the sensors could be programmed to my car and was told yes. Further, I bought these sensors specifically because they are advertised as being compatible with my car. When I received my car back, the TPMS light came on after a few minutes and the pressure readings were all blank. I returned the car to the shop and asked them to look at it. They told me that they could not program the sensors to my car, and that I would need to go to the dealer. I'm not satisfied with the service provided. If the sensors were not compatible with my vehicle, and the shop did not have the equipment to program them, why were they installed? The sales person told me that the sensors need to be under pressure to operate, but that is not true based on programming videos that I have watched. Now I cannot return them (they are inside my wheels), and my TPMS system is not functioning properly. Theoretically, this system malfunction could pose a serious safety hazard and cause premature wear of my tires. Now I will have to take the tires to another facility. I'm going to pay to have the whole thing done over again, when this place could have declined the work from the beginning.
