Would advise anyone to stay away from this school!! It’s a big scam I ended up dropping out from there lpn program within a few weeks of the first term it is way over priced for things they supply when the WiFi and computers don’t even work the scrubs are paper. Them saying one thing in a zoom meeting then saying no we never said that idk where you got your information from. The student self portoral for your balance is apparently wrong when that’s what you follow. Just revived something in the mail saying I owe them 3k or more when my balance on my fasfa for loans isn’t even close to that much money what so ever so I’m not sure where is going wrong but this school does not care about the students what so ever will absolutely destroy yourself trying to get a career from them, they say you can work but honestly you can’t with all the testing and material to go over there’s no time for work even if your PRN, biggest scam out there do not go to any of them

I recently graduated from Porter and Chester of Wtby CT - Computer Network class, however that was in 2021 yet here it is 2024 and I'm still receiving these Fake looking bills from your Rocky Hill, Ct location that no longer exists. I am and have been paying my student loans monthly. There is no reason as to why and where $3,000 more dollars out of nowhere is getting billed to me. Should have sued this school a long time ago with every student in my class. I will not be paying your school anymore money because you all have robbed us of our education and learning because of COVID. I was in school when COVID started and our hands-on learning was taken away on top of not being able to have a ceremony for our graduation. The instructors decided not to teach us would rather tell us to teach ourselves. The director of the WTBY, CT location did not care to hear any of myself and classmates concerns going forward. The director also fired our instructor at the time so we had none for almost a month. We went full remote during the epidemic and remainder of my admission there. I DO NOT recommend anyone to go to this school for their high price tuition and their carelessness for the students. It was an absolute waste of my time and the certification doesn't even help you get a job. Just like the anything else quick to take your money with fake promises, just stress and anxiety trying to figure out how to pay for this outrageous tuition. This is the most Highly unprofessional business and all of these schools should get shutdown.

This student attended Porter and Chester Institute’s Waterbury campus and graduated from the Computer and Networking program in April of 2021. Upon graduation, the Career Services Department placed him with an employer in ******* *** He has an outstanding balance on his Institutional Student Finance Corporation (ISFC) loan. If this student was, or is concerned that any contact relative to his loan was, or is fraudulent, he can contact student services at 1-877-877-2183. Additionally, as a resource for our graduates, they can always contact our Career Services/Alumni Department at ********************************************************** for assistance with employment. We are committed to helping and supporting our students, but any financial obligations they have incurred relative to their education are their responsibility to repay.

Do not waste your time! This school is a scam run by crooks. They are very adamant on receiving all payments for the program but do not follow up with anything they promise. We had an instructor quit on us at the end of our program because he felt we were not getting the proper education from the given courses. The school always lacked supplies. Most of the homeworks had incorrect answers marked as right, and have apparently been like that for the past five years. The teachers and Mr o brien never return calls or emails unless it has to do with them receiving money. I will be going to talk to lawyer and news 12 ct to let them know that this program needs to be shut down. I have documentation of how terrible the school is and have two classes of students signing petitions against the program for a full refund. This program charges 30,000 dollars for free YouTube channel, a bunch of tools, an iPad, the books and the osha 30 course. BIGGEST SCAM OF MY LIFE!!

    Porter and Chester Institute Response

The Porter and Chester Institute would like to respond to the aforementioned customer review. This student enrolled in our Electrician program in Oct 2020 at our Stratford campus. The student attended for the 12-month duration of the program. Please find below our rebuttal to all the following: “They are very adamant on receiving all payments for the program but do not follow up with anything they promise”. The school provided multiple opportunities for the student to work with our financial aid department to resolve any financing issues or discrepancies. However, the student failed to provide the required documentation after the schools repeated request for information and documentation; which resulted the student owing a substantial unpaid balance. “We had an instructor quit on us at the end of our program because he felt we were not getting the proper education from the given course’s”. While we are not at liberty to discuss the instructor/faculty staffing attrition. the instructor who had taught during this students training had been with the school for several years and has in fact returned to the school to resume teaching the Electrical program. “The school always lacked supplies”. The school maintains consumable supplies for all of our programs. This is a regulatory requirement by state and federal approving agencies to ensure institutions have adequate equipment and supplies to provide the hands-on trainings received in labs. “Most of the homework’s had incorrect answers marked as right, and have apparently been like that for the past five years”. While there is no evidence of this. All programs offered undergo constant review by our curriculum committees to ensure that all course content is kept to the highest standards. “The teachers and Mr o brien never return calls or emails unless it has to do with them receiving money”. Both the instructor and the Director of Education were both available daily on the campus. In addition neither the instructor or Director of Education have any recollection of the student voicing any concerns verbally or written during his time as a student nor does the Director of Education have any emails from the student during his time as a student. “I will be going to talk to lawyer and news 12 ct to let them know that this program needs to be shut down. I have documentation of how terrible the school is and have two classes of students signing petitions against the program for a full refund.” The school was never contacted by a lawyer or any media outlets regarding the students claims, nor did the student ever provide any documentation he claims to have had. In addition, the school has never received any petitions from the students requesting a refund. In summary this student attended the Electrical program for 12 months. He began the program in Oct 2020 and left in Oct 2021. It’s important to emphasis that in Jan of 2022 this exact review was posted verbatim to a business site in Stratford. Subsequently, after posting a negative review of the school, the claimant applied to return to the program in March of 2022. His application to return was denied due to the large unpaid balance. As always PCI takes these reviews of the institution seriously. PCI continues to strive to provide a quality training programs that prepare individuals with the skills to be successful in their fields; that provide the needed skills vital to our national and local infrastructure and workforce. Respectfully submitted, Porter and Chester Institute

I foolishly enrolled in the LPN program in 2021. I was supposed to graduate in 2022. Yet here we are year 2023 and I STILL HAVE NOT GRADUATED. PCI of Stratford/Bridgeport milked the EXCUSE of Covid for more than a year ! Even when other sites and schools had opened back up and resumed clinical practices, PCI of Stratford/Bridgeport, left students in the dark, ignored emails, phone calls, and STILL don’t have our answers to as when exactly we are graduating, and clinical hours. There is no stable coordinator. Everytime we email one coordinator the email comes back they are no longer there to contact someone else. Which doesn’t even make sense. PORTER AND CHESTER IS A SCAM, but the administration doesn’t care because they still get paid! The nursing director will not answer our calls or our emails. It sucks that I can’t get my $30,000 back but it’s sucks even more that I wasted 3 years of my life at a tech school. I could’ve been nearly completed with a Bachelor’s of nursing at a university. If anyone knows of any lawyers please let us know in the comments!

My son graduated from their ********* campus which later moved to ***********  When I accompanied him on his enrollment, he was told the majority of graduates are placed with apprentice work after graduation…..NOT TRUE!!! They take your money and forget you as a student!!!! I contacted someone who helps place students with apprentice work and was told the whole department were given furloughs. This is unacceptable!!! I demand a response!!!

I foolishly enrolled in the LPN program in 2020. I was supposed to graduate in 2021. Yet here we are. Just 2 weeks away from year 2023 and I STILL HAVE NOT GRADUATED. PCI of Hamden milked the EXCUSE of Covid for more than a year ! Even when other sites and schools had opened back up and resumed clinical practices, PCI of Hamden, left students in the dark, ignored emails, phone calls, and STILL don’t have LPN teachers. The Coordinator is also serving as a teacher. Which doesn’t even make sense. PORTER AND CHESTER IS A SCAM. but the administration doesn’t care because they still get paid! The CEO is living lavishly and care free in his mansion in Simsbury CT of MY tuition! It sucks that I can’t get my $30,000 back but it’s sucks even more that I wasted 3 years of my life at a tech school. I could’ve been nearly completed with a Bachelor’s of nursing at a university. If anyone knows of any lawyers please let us know in the comments!

The electrical program out of the Worcester campus in Massachusetts is horrible. I did not feel as if I was being taught at all. Most of the class was just watching YouTube videos instead of the instructor actually teaching. The instructor insulted students and at one point discriminated against non vaccinated students. I had multiple issues as a veteran involving my gi bill benefits not being processed in a timely manner and not receiving my funds when I should have. They also have not issued out my Pell grant to me and it has been sitting in my account for 5 months. I graduated 1 month ago. Any attempts to ask about this issue and get it resolved have been met with silence.
