Dear Better Business Bureau, I am writing to file a complaint against MTL Heating & Cooling LLC, located in **** ****** **. I recently hired this com***y to perform maintenance work on my heating and cooling system. However, I was shocked to discover that the com***y double charged me for their services. I was initially quoted a total price of $750 over the phone and on paper, but when the work was completed, I was charged $1500. The com***y charged me $750 per unit instead of the originally quoted total price of $750. This was a clear violation of our agreement and their pricing policy. When I attempted to inquire about the discre***cy in the pricing, the owner of the com***y became irate and started yelling at me over the phone. This was completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. I demand a refund for the overcharge that was made by MTL Heating & Cooling LLC. It is important that com***ies provide accurate and honest quotes to their customers and honor their agreements. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your prompt response. Sincerely

    To whom it may concern,
On Saturday February 4, 2023, Mrs. ****** called MTL Heating & Cooling, LLC stating she had no heat. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Mr. ****** who informed me that he had been chipping ice away from the air intake pipe all night in order to get heat into the home. Mr. ****** also stated this has been an ongoing issue for several years. Upon inspection of the unit, I discovered that the first floor and second floor vent pipes were installed improperly allowing exhaust gases to enter the intake air pipes and freezing, causing the unit to shut down. We quoted Mr. ****** $750.00 per unit to correct the issue. Mr. ****** said he would call his landlord to get approval for the work to get done. When I spoke to Mrs. ***, I also informed her of the repairs and that it was $750 per unit. I clarified to Mrs. *** that she had to do both the first and second floor to correct the issue and the final total would be $1,500.00 plus tax. Mrs. *** agreed to the repairs and told me to call the tenant to schedule the work and the tenant will pay MTL Heating & Cooling, LLC. On February 10, 2023, we arrived at the ********, and I was greeted by Mr. ***. Mr. *** informed me Mrs. ****** was not home and I proceeded to show Mr. *** what we were going to repair and how we were going to raise the vent pipe eight feet so it would comply with building codes. I also asked Mr. *** if he was paying us the $1,500.00 plus tax for the work. Mr. *** said Mrs. ****** would be home in a little while and would pay us and he left the residence. When we completed the repairs and were cleaning up, Mr. *** returned and inspected the repairs. I asked Mr. *** again if he was going to be the one to pay us and he said Mrs. ****** would be home in fifteen minutes and she would pay us, and the ******** can take the repair amount off of their rent. Mrs. ****** arrived home and paid us a check for the completed work. Shortly after departing the ****** residence, Mrs. *** called to complain about the price. I stated to Mrs. *** that per our previous conversation, I informed her it would be $750.00 per unit for a total of $1,500.00 plus tax. I also reminded Mrs. *** that I communicated this to her husband, and he said the tenant will pay for the repairs and the ******** will take it off of their rent. Mrs. *** then stated she was going to stop the payment and proceeded to hang up on me. I called Mrs. ****** and informed her of the conversation with Mrs. *** and Mrs. ****** said she would not stop the payment; we completed the work as described and they will continue to take it off their next rent payment. I do not understand why Mrs. *** had an issue with the price after the work was completed when the price was communicated to all individuals several times. The ***’s had two opportunities to not agree to us doing the work. The first time being when Mrs. *** called MTL Heating & Cooling, LLC to discuss the repairs that would be done, and the second time was when I showed Mr. *** what would be repaired and how that would occur.
