On March 2, 2022 I went to Certified Motors in hopes of purchasing a reliable vehicle. I test drove a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe, during the test drive I noticed that the check engine light was on. When I got back from test drive I informed ****** ********** that the check engine light was on she assured me that the reason for the check engine light being on was because of an EVAP leak. She told me if I wanted to buy the vehicle that Certified Motors would be responsible for paying to get it fixed. I asked her was there anything else wrong with the vehicle being as though it was being sold As Is and she reassured me that the car was in good condition besides the EVAP leak. Against my better judgement I financed the vehicle through Credit Acceptance that did come with an extended warranty. I made a down payment of $2,200. Being as though the dealership was paying to get the EVAP leak fixed I had to go through a mechanic that they were affiliated with. I took the vehicle to ****** and was told the light was on due to the gas cap. He changed the gas cap and erased the code off so the check engine light would go off. 3 days later the check engine light came back on. I informed ****** ********** and she told me to send it back to ******. Sent it back to ****** and he said he had to put a part on but could not tell me what part he put on, a few days later the check engine light came back on again. I called Certified Motors and spoke with ****** because ****** was not there. ****** told me I would have to go through the warranty. I asked why would I need to go throug the warranty when ****** said that they would fix it. ****** called me back and gave me another mechanic that they were affiliated with. On May 4th I took the vehicle to Trowow. The mechanic named ***** informed me that I needed about $800.00 of front end work done to the vehicle. He never let me know why the check engine light was on and all he did was erase the code for the check engine light to go off.
