Last week (July 31) I accepted delivery on a car from Newark Toyota World. The car was order 4 months ago for $30,000. I was very specific with the salesman (“*****”) about the options I wanted /did not want to purchase. He showed me the model car on the lot that had already been sold II was particularly pleased that it had a spare tire. That convinced me to order a Corolla Cross Hybrid, that I assumed he was showing me. He printed out a document with the price, I signed what I thought was a contract, and gave them $1000 deposit. Four months later, the delivered car had many extra “options” installed that I specifically did not order and only one of three options I had ordered. The dealership would not remove the extra options or reduce the cost. In fact they raised the price $2000 more than the order I had signed. On the way home I discovered that it didn’t have a spare tire. That was very important to my decisions. an an older woman with no family nearby this is a essential safety feature. Toyota offers – instead of a spare tire – road service. But Toyota’s “road service” tows away a car – and they leave the driver and any passengers at the side of the road, with no transportation home – because there is no spare tire. In addition, at the dealership a “warranty” employee (Aaron) lied to me trying to sell me Windshield protections for $695, one-half of the “normal price” he said. He told me it was essential because there was a camera embedded in the windshield and replacement would cost $3-4,000. He lied to me There was no camera “embedded” in the glass, The dealership manager told me that his "pitch" was a lie and replacement of the windshield was normal with recalibration of the camera often required - but not at $3-4,000. I can't tell you how disappointed and angry I have been since dealing with this company. I long for some resolution and have filed a complaint with the Attorney General

We have been working diligently to resolve ******s concerns since she purchased the vehicle. Some concerns are out of our control however, at the expense of the Dealership we have ordered her a Cargo Cover and Spare tire kit for her vehicle. We spoke to ****** earlier today to make sure all of her concerns have been addressed and she stated to the best of our ability that we have addressed her main concerns. The General Sales Manager of Newark Toyotaworld has personally offered his contact info for any future concerns.

Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint and have determined that this does not resolve my  issue.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. **In order for the bureau to continue to assist you, you MUST provide your view on the matter or your complaint will be closed as answered. This business is in the process of responding to my request for a spare (donut) tire and a cargo carrier.  Ordering a car with them was a horrible experience and I would not recommend them to anyone else.  Misinformation was given to me, lack of communication, lies from the warranty salesperson cannot be cured at this point.  I don't intend to ever purchase a Toyota again.  Others need to be aware.
