In 2019 I went in to see if I was able to have implants. I saw ***** who did the financing, she charged me $12k. I asked her if I could sleep on it and that there were so many issues and thoughts that I had an infection that would go to my brain that could me life threatening. I signed the documents out of fear and pressure. They did molding for implants but as I left I called and let her know she had to stop the process because I no longer felt comfortable proceeding. She said everything was sent out and being processed. The following day I went for a second opinion at a different dental location and he said I wasnt even a candidate for implants and not a single infection. With absolutely nothing being done to me especially since I decided not to move forward with their services I have $1977.04 on my credit that are most definitely fraudulent charges. It was an awful experience that I dont wish on anyone. This needs to be rectified.Initial Complaint

I started treatment with Bonita dental in June of 2021 right after I gave birth. I had a chipped baby tooth that needed to come out. Dr ****** removed the tooth and told me I needed an implant so thats what we did. After the implant I told him how I have intermittent TMJ issues like every now and then my jaw, clicks and pops and sometimes my jaw gets tired after eating really chewy food. He did a tmj assessment and told me that my teeth clenching and my pain can be stopped by doing invisilign to make my canines touch. They told me it was **** up front so I paid in full before I even started treatment. During the coarse of treatment they said they had to shave in between my teeth to create more space I was crying during this process because it hurt but they did it anyways. Dr ****** would ask every appointment how I was feeling and I actually would say Im not feeling better and he would tell me that Ill feel a lot better once my teeth are done shifting. Also during this process he did what is called occlusal adjustments so essentially grinding down the top of my teeth to fix the bite. This was done many times towards the end of my treatment with invisilign. I finished invisilign and my permanent retainer on the top didnt fit right so they had to rescan my mouth and order a new one. This happened in December of 2022 I believe. I was supposed to pick it up at my scheduled cleaning the first week of January 2023 but my appointments kept getting cancelled for several months and I finally spoke with someone who said that everyone was fired. Once I found that out I requested my medical records so I could see a new dentist. Since they took off the invisilign attachments and finished the treatment except for that final retainer my jaw is in pain everyday. My jaw locks up so much more and it hurts to laugh and sing and pretty much anything. I have this constant ache in my jaw and face that is hard to fix with any Advil. My teeth are all sensitive now which happened after the attachments were taken off. My teeth have also shifted since they finished moving my teeth and havent given me the final retainer that they ordered. It took me several months to get my medical records because I kept having to call in and ask and they kept not responding. They still havent given me all of my x rays or ct scans. I am looking at over ****** dollars to fix my TMJ issues and I want my money back for my incomplete treatment as well as the final retainer I am owed. I have lost my patience with trying to get anything accomplished through the office because it is closed.Initial Complaint

My child started care with Bonita prime dental in feb 2022 and had a spacer placed on the roof of his mouth. They lost their orthodontist shortly after the first visit. And come to find out they were not a real orthodontist but didnt disclose that. They cancelled two follow up apts, after getting the run around and being told he would be seen until July, I demanded to speak to the clinic manager ******** . THen they got a new provider. They charged my insurnace for march - june . and yet no service was done on my child . He saw the new provider in july . Then every month the cancelled his apts. he was seen in october and novemeber . Then his january apt was cancelled. So i took him to a different clinic for a second opinion. THe spacer has been in too long that his molars was pushed too far back. It was also way too large for his mouth and needed to come out asap. I has to pay 500 bucks out of pocket to have it removed. Since then the Bonita prime office said they would refund the money as we also financed ****. Now for the last 4 months we get excuses or told a check is in the mail. We have recieved nothing ! they committed insurance fraud. and caused damaged to my childs teeth.Initial Complaint

I had a tooth pulled and implant inserted 10/18/2021. They said I needed to pay up front for the entire amount and if it was more than what my insurance allowed for all of the procedures I would get a refund. The crown was done on 3-11/2022 (which was paid for when the implant was done). At that time I asked for a detailed accounting of procedure and insurance payments and was told couldn't do at that time. I went for an exam, x-rays, and cleaning on 5/25/2022. They billed my insurance company, who paid them. I went in 10/25/2022 to get a detailed statement to figure out what was covered and paid. In reviewing this detailed statement I found: 1) at the time of the 5/22/2022 exam they owed me $717.70 (of which I was never notified about), 2) they billed my insurance company for the visit and x-rays on 5/25 but deducted the full bill sent to insurance from the money I had left from pre-pay of my procedure, and 3) they received payment for the 5/25 services from insurance but never credited my account for that amount, therefore, I paid $244 for the services plus they received $128 from Delta Dental (which was totally covered amount and I was not responsible for anything). When calculating everything I am due $775.70. Additional information, the company is now a different company and I was told they were bought out a year ago. I was never notified of any of the changes and didn't find out until I went to get a cleaning this year. That cleaning date was changed 3 times and now cancelled because they don't have a dental hygienist. I have been blown off about the money related to the procedure for the past year.Initial Complaint

On November 9th 2021 I had a appointment for implants with Bonita dental now Bonita Prime dental. Still same dentist and still most of the same office personel. I was told they did not accept my insurance and i would have to pay upfront and get reimbursed by my insurance. I paid $20,000 on my ***************** I have no complaints with the work done it is the billing and shady practices by the office staff that occured after. I contacted my insurance shortly after my procedure and found out that Bonita Dental was in my network. Over the next year the office staff over 3 diffrent times would just forget to fill out certain parts of the claim for the insurance. Finally on Novemember 8th 2022 my dental office received a check from my insurance. I asked my insurance company why it was mailed to them and not me they said the office marked the box to have it sent to them. The check was cashed on November 8th. I have called many times and was told after corporate gets it then they will issue me a check for ***** dollars. A month later still waiting. My wife also had the same experience and never received her check. I truly believe there is more going on in this office according to the yelp reviews and my own experience. This office has changed names but keeps the same dentist and same staff. I just want my check that i ahve waited a year for and it would be nice for my wife to get hers a well after a year.Initial Complaint

Dates of Service are from June 2020 to Jan 2022. I have written the statement and it is too many characters for this space. I am attaching it to this complaint. I have been through so much and I can't get them to respond to my complaint. I have sent them an e mail and will copy and paste it to this space. So you get the gist of what is going on. See Below ******************** Wed, Sep 21, 9:02 AM to Bonita I need to have someone tell me which crowns have been placed. I have bought 7. I think only 3 have been actually put on. Can you check on that?Als I see that I have 4 implants.. I didnt know about one of them. However, I only know of one s**** being put in and I think the other 3 have not been done yet. I need to know that also. Please see your billing. I was charged twice for ********. I am a bookkeeper and I did the math and I need to be reimbursed for that charge. I went through the statement thoroughly and I definitely was double charged for that tooth.I would like to grab a check tomorrow. I am gathering all this information and would like to speak to ******** and let her know what I have decided to do regarding my dental needs. I have no patients anymore with this dental office.I also got my teeth cleaned when I was in ***** this summer. My gums were fine and the hygienist that cleaned them said she didnt understand why I was told I had this bad gum disease. I had a cleaning and she will testify to the fact that I had pink gums and I didnt have what you guys said I had. .Another thing that made me realize that I am in the wrong place was in Aug. a tooth broke off right to the gums. My daughter was getting married in a week. It is tooth number 4This is the kicker. I had my dentist look at my records from you. He said that you had an x-ray that showed decay on tooth number 4. You never addressed it. I needed a filling not a crown. I had to attend my daughters wedding with a missing tooth.Initial Complaint

I started a large dental project with Bonita Dental Care in early 2021. When sitting down with the Finance/Sales person, ************************************************, we were shown a contract with the prices of all the work to be done, and some financing options. Since it was a very large, expensive project, my husband asked if there was any discount to be offered. ($24,300.00) ******** said she could only offer a $300..00 discount to round off our bill to $24,00.00, I gave them a check for $7000.00 and financed the $17,00.00 at that time. I was told there was no interest on the loan for six months, and later that was found to be wrong, and ********** (owner) reimbursed me for the interest I had to pay because of her mistake. (After a great deal of stress and looking for help in that matter) On February 21, 2022 a clerk at the front desk claimed I owed $300.00 as I wrote a check wrong in the past. I had NO idea what she was talking about, but I paid on a credit card and informed her if I found out it was incorrect I wanted a credit back as soon as I got home. I called when I got home and saw the mistake, but she then claimed they cannot do credits! In the last six months I have NOT received a refund, although I was told many times by my dentist, *** ****** it was approved and a check was coming. (This is another mistake made by ******** in my contract) I have called many times, and cannot get any satisfaction or call backs. At this point my work is done, and I am not scheduling my follow *** until this is resolved. In the meantime, the company was sold, and the new name is Bonita Prime Dental...same staff, etc. I know there was a credit to my account in April 2022 by a Senior Accounting clerk, **************, but they will not send the refund.Initial Complaint

On April 26 I went to Bonita Dental Care emergency procedure. I had a infected gum that needed the tooth to be extracted. I had the tooth taken out. I paid out of pocket $900.00 I was told that I would be reimburse by my insurance which is Aetna. I did call Aetna on 5/9/222 and they told me to get a claim from the dentist company. I called Dental Care and they said they did send a claim to Aetna. They did not send a claim that was concerning myself they send a claim of $1,102.00. That included the $900. that I already paid them plus they added the extraction $350.00 and the closure of sinus perforation $630.00 plus oral evaluation $88.00 and radiographic image $34.00 total of $1,102.00 so what they did is charge Aetna the $900.00 that I already paid them. Aetna should of paid them just $122.00 they over charge my insurance. I've been trying since May to get my $900.00 that the Dental Care own me from the check they received from Aetna they keep giving me an excuse every time I called them again on 6/21/22 about the money they owe me they told me that it was gone to the Corporate Office Divergent Dental Group, 4400TX121 Suite 345, Lewisville, TXXXXXX and it would take another 4 weeks before I would get a check. I call 7/26/2022 and spoke to Matt he told me he did not know about that and he had several complaint about the same situation. The Dental Care lied about sending it to the Corporation in Texas I tried to called 7/26/2022 the Dental Care office and did not answer the phone so I left a message and they did not return my call. Bonita Dental Care are cheating the elderly I am 75 yrs. and I really need that $900.00 I am not working and living very poorly only on social security. I would appreciate your help. Please see what you can do for me. My phone number is XXX-XXX-XXXX Sincerely, ******** *******Initial Complaint

Dental implant services started in August 2021 and were completed in April 2022 with an in network confirmed dental provider for MetLife Federal Dental administered by OPM. Bonita Dental Care aka Bonita Prime Dental was paid in full with direct deposit as of May 5, 2022, confirmed by Met Life Dental with check number provided. As of May 25, 2022, the business has denied receipt of the electronically deposited funds and refuses to reconcile the financed patient copay responsibility from $4049.00(initially over inflated by Bonita) to the Met Life negotiated fee of $1561.40, a credit amount of $2487.60 preventing the account from being closed. Numerous calls, E-Mails, direct contact from both Met Life Dental and Comenity Bank to Bonita Dental Care has resulted in no response to any action to resolve this issue.
