We recently purchased a property (*** ******* ***** ***** ** ****** ** *****) through a realtor ****** ******** with War Group EXP Realty. There is a separate cottage on the property which needed renovating. ****** put us in contact via email with ***** ******* with Next Level Painting & Renovations. I received a quote via email detailing the work that needed to be done. ***** ******* required a 50% deposit be paid as an acceptance of the quote and for work to commence. A bank transfer of $16225.00 was made to ***** ******* of Next Level Painting and Renovations on 05/04/2022. An agreement via text message was reached that work would commence the 18th of May 2022. After much delay and excuses via text messaging ***** and his colleague Bo finally came out to the property on the 16th of June 2022 on which we had ***** review and sign an agreement regarding a date of which the renovations would be completed. Completion date of 15th July 2022 was agreed and signed by ***** *******. On Friday the 17th of June a worker by the name of ***** came to our property and began tearing down a cupboard in the garage, pulling up of a small area of carpet in the garage and scraping of ceilings. ***** cam again to scrape ceilings throughout the cottage on the 21st of June 2022, which he worked from (3:30 until 6:00pm). ***** came one more time on the 2nd of July 2022 to again scrape ceilings and that was the last work that was done by Next Level Painting and Renovations. From that date on it was delay after delay. We attempted to contact ***** via text message, phone calls, emails and then a certified letter requesting a refund of the $16225.00. We have had no response or any attempt from ***** ******* to resolve this issue or refund our money. The cottage has been left with unfinished scraped ceilings and a pile of rubble in the garage. We are desperate to try and recoup this deposit or even part of this deposit.
