I contracted with HONC docks to rebuild my dock. After construction began an issue arose about material availability. I was up charged for RENEWMAX deck boards for $5534.76. Original contract was for WEARDECK. The notice of addendum was sent to me on 9/20/21 yet the purchase/delivery order was 9/24/21. I only learned of this deception while trying to replace damaged boards from Hurricane ***. I went to the local supplier of RENEWMAX, Shoreline Lumber and was informed they had no purchase order and the sample I brought with me was in fact WEARDECK. They directed me to Docks and Decks in **********, the local supplier of WEARDECK. They confirmed the purchase order for the boards and material on 9/24/21. I was up charged and paid for materials that were never installed. This by definition is FRAUD. I have made numerous phone calls and sent a certified letter and get no response for my requested refund. I have documentation to support this claim.I also have issues with inferior workmanship but unsure if you can help with this issue. The structural pilings were not anchored to the dock with lag nut and bolt. The force of Hurricane *** winds caused the pilings to move 6 inches as they were not anchored/secured to the dock on one side. The unsecured pilings caused the newly installed boat lift and canopy to collapse resulting in over $16k in damage. HONC refused to accept responsibility for poor workmanship.

This work was not done by our company *********** Contracting.  It was done by Honc Docks & Lifts Inc.  We are separate entities.  Please close out this complaint with *********** Contracting.

    Thank you

I contracted with Honc Docks and lifts to remove an old dock and install a new one, approximately 7/2022. After a long, and expected wait, demo of old dock and new dock construction began the first week of May 2023. The dock took a few months to complete and I made final payment on the completed product the first week of August 2023. In November I noticed rust stains coming from approximately 3 dozen screws and leaving rust stains on my new dock. I spoke with ****, who was in charge, via text message on 11/28 and 11/29, he told me that he would have their guy come out and replace the rusting screws and clean/remove the rust stains. This has not been done and the President of the company, ********************* now tells me they will now correct it, that its up to me to maintain the dock and the rusting screws on a 4 month old dock are not his problem. I want the deck boards with the rust stains replaced at Honc Docks and Lifts expense. The screws were either defective or damaged by the installers. If it were a maintenance issue on my part, the entire dock would show the same rust stains. I sat down and spoke to ****************** about this today, 12/10/23, and could not come to an agreement and he said that I should just live with it, its not that big of a deal. It is a big deal to me, I paid $44,000 just 4 months ago, and it should not have happened this quickly. I was told it would be taken care of, and I have the texts and emails to prove it, but now they have reneged. All I want is for the stained boards to be replaced.
