Since I contracted with them in January 2023, I've had ongoing issues with the quality of workmanship.Roof leaks continuous since roof was redone in May 2023.The last "attempt" at leak repair has resulted in worse results than when they started. They are *** at responding for requests to have a supervisor come look at the work. I'm going to get an attorney and another company to repair what they damaged and bill Nastar for all fees and charges.Business response

We have made an appointment with ****************** to address her concerns. Documented records indicated that customer insisted on shingles in the dead valley instead of the standard material procedures. Nastar and ***************** are working towards a solution to resolve any issues. Communication today was documented as positive.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
One of the supervisors came to discuss my concerns. He did not offer any solution to my complaint about their work. He defended the company's actions, did not look at the work on the roof and only said that's the way it's done. Very rude and disrespectful.
The company is not showing any interest in making repairs as needed.
I did not tell them to use shingles. They brought them to the *******. I had no idea what procedure they were using.
There was no communication by the crew that explained what they did. The crew did not speak fluent English and it was difficult to speak to them.
The pictures they showed me at the conclusion of the work we're difficult to correlate with what I saw from the sidewalk.
Only after closer inspection, did I see it was a sloppy and incomplete job.
And the roof is still leaking!!
Sincerely,

Contracted with Nastar in July, 2022. Put down 1/3 deposit and told roof would be installed in November. Then hurricane Ian hit on September 28th and Nastar decided they didn’t want to honor our contract. Of course we didn’t find that out until we called and texted salespeople and the office for several weeks with no response. Finally someone called us back in November and we were told it would be months before they would get to us. How can that be when we signed a contract, put down a deposit, and you already pulled the permit? Because you are ******! Did I get my deposit back? Yes, after more weeks of calling and going to their office and being told no one was authorized to sign a check. Finally had to sit in the office for almost an hour before they finally figured out which of the 20 people in the office could write the check. While waiting, another customer came in with the exact same problem! I told him to just get a refund and walk away. A very frustrating and sad situation overall. Not sure how any company with integrity can pull this crap on people who have just lived through one of the worst natural disasters in FL history, but Nastar did, and will probably do it again.Business response

In mid August, 2022, I contracted with Nastar to reroof my home with a targeted date of Nov. ***** . Nastar banked my deposited in mid August. After emailing, and several telephone calls I can not get an answer as to when they job will be started. I have spoken to *****,*******, *****, and the answering service - all of these folks promised a return phone call not one person has returned my calls or answered my emails.Nastar is not having supply issues as they have recently reroofed homes and are in the process of reroofing homes in my gated community. Two days ago I sent a certified demand letter, demanding I be told when the job will be started and finished.Customer response

On 08-04-22, I paid a deposit on a contract for roof repair of $2,000, I was told it would take 8 weeks for the work due to the permit time. I tried several times after the 8 weeks to get an update and no one returned calls and messages left with the office. After months and several attempts to discuss I was told they would not honor my contract due to price increases and the hurricane. I looked up with the county to see if my permit was pulled and it was not and my deposit was used at a construction supply company, not the company I signed the contract with. I found out this information when I called the credit card company and then I filed a dispute based on fraud.Customer response

We signed a contract for a new roof in July and paid our deposit in August. There was permit issued for our roof at the beginning of September. Nobody reached out for scheduling. Phone calls and emails were not answered. We had hurricane *** come through and cause more leaks on the inside of our home. Finally 6 weeks after the hurricane I had to go to their office for answers and they still had no answers for scheduling. They also said they could not honor our contract anymore and there would be a price increase. A couple sitting in the office said their increase was about 30% more than their original contract, and they were there to request a refund. They also said their scheduled date for a new roof was going to be sometime next year. I also asked for a refund, and they were very happy to write me a check right there on the spot. Luckily I didn't have to take any legal action, but this company did waste several months of my time, and now it is very difficult to get a roofing contractor after the hurricane.Business response
