In March 2023, we agreed to have our driveway replaced by Ron H***** Inc. We were given an estimate of Ten Thousand One Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($10,150.00) after marking out the area we asked to extend it in the back and we were told it would be an additional One Thousand Dollars, this we consent to paying a total of Eleven Thousand One Hundred and Fifty. The job started on April 18th, 2023 for the removal of the driveway, on the 19th of April the cement was poured by Kennedy Cement Company and spread by Mr. H***** crew. After the cement was spread we asked about the spacing for the cement to expand and contract, we were told later that evening he would be back to cut the spacing. hence the machine he used created numerous chips. About three weeks after the driveway was laid, I text Mr. H***** to find out what was going on with the coloring, He returned to take a look at what I was describing to him. He looked at it dry and also did a wet test. Mr. H***** claimed he have never seen a driveway with this outcome. He took pictures and gave us hope that this would be corrected. Prior to that his partner came out to assess it and claimed we were not the only one with this problem and they are meeting with the rep from the cement company to complain about the coloring. Mr. H***** claimed he would be return to re-cut the spacing but never did. Spending this type of money your expectation is that you would not have these types of problems. To have him telling me my dive way is white and pretty and the 90 degrees turn that we make to dive into our garage is the cause of the tire marks. Even though our previous driveway had cracked the coloring was nothing like the color now. This is so upsetting to see all the sand in the cement and all the different colors wet or dry. We are asking for help in resolving this problem. We are asking for something to be done about the color as well as the numerous cracks, if not repay us the cost to have it repaired.

Responding to address the Hemming's Project.  I started the job on April 17, 2023 I did the demo on the 17th and the 18th we set up form boards, graded and completed the set up for concrete to come the next day.  On the 18th the last thing I did was let The Hemmings know I was done for the day and was ready for concrete on the 19th they said everything looked great!  On the 19th when I turned my phone on at 5am I seen a text from the Hemmings that says they marked out an area closer to the shrub that they wanted done with concrete.  I got to the job at 6am and got a call to tell me about this area and I told them I did not have the tools for this request and that concrete was on its way and that we could not complete this request.  Something should of been said when I did a walk through with them on the 18th.  Unfortunately I feel the Hemmings are putting words in my mouth that I did not say and they are being a little untruthful.  I have text messages and my estimates that show we never discussed doing the extra concrete until the morning that concrete was on its way.  I offered her to fix a problem in pool deck and added 2 areas by the shrubs for only $1300 that cost paid for the concrete and my help.  I was going to use my equipment and tools to haul off the dirt and concrete and me work for 2 days at no charge and this was not good enough for them.  If I did it for ZERO Dollars we would not be having this discussion but I cannot afford to do this kind of thing for free.  We poured concrete on April 19th and 5 weeks later she text about the color in her driveway on May 24th.  In a picture she sent me you can Cleary see a straight line from the color and footsteps in it.  She is right I have never seen this before and the guys I work with did not know either I even ask other people in the concrete industry and no one knows what it can be.  I took pictures and sent to the concrete rep and I told customer that that the concrete company would not accept responsibility and they did not.  The chip she is talking about are in the control joints that we cut to help prevent the driveway from cracking and the last time I was at the site there were no cracks in the driveway. I have offered to recut the joints and make them a little wider to lessen the appearance of the aggregate that chipped while cutting the control joints.  At this point I was afraid anything I did would just be fuel for them to be upset with me unless I would do more work for her for free.  I have all my pictures I take before, during and after the job is done along with the text messages and my 4 estimates to show my work.  I do not think I have been unreasonable with the Hemmings and I have answered all their calls and text but have not been able to make them happy.  In the end the driveway is a good looking fully functionable driveway.

    Regards,

    Ron H*****

Five weeks is far from being the truth, maybe by text. Mr. H***** was contacted by phone several times and he sent someone over to inspect the driveway and once again as I said before his comment was “We Have Been Having Problems With the Cement And Had A Meeting With The Company. Why would he make that comment???Further more Mr. H***** commented on it too in a wet dry status. If the cement company is not taking responsibility who should??? We are not in this business that’s why we hired a company to do the job. All we are asking is for something to be done about the color of the cement with the discoloration!!! Thanks
