Please accept our apologies for not following up.  I spoke with his direct supervisor and found that he remembered being there but completely forgot to follow through.

I assure that this is not how we conduct ourselves but will acknowledge that people make mistakes from time to time.

We will turn this into a learning experience not only for this estimator but also for the entire team.  We value our customers and regret when we have not lived up to our standards.

Again, I can only offer sincere apologies and hope that we will get the opportunityto redeem ourselves to you in the future.

Handyman Roofing entered into a contract with me the homeowner to replace my roof at a cost of roughly $40,000. Which was paid in full upon what I thought was a new sound roof including replacing the 3-skylights over living room area.Only 2- days after it rains and I begin to see ******** spots near the top of center skylight. I immediately call the Site Mgr (*****) as he left his number and indicated we I should give them first rights to fix and he would send out a tech. So the tech came out and told me he thought it was condensation from the air inside, and made not repairs. So with that being said..My Wife and I are sitting in the living room as hurricane *** comes through and we see water leaking down the side of the wall and onto the floor. We had to place towels and buckets around to catch the water and check throughout the night to access the damage.. So I called ***** and sent him real time photos of the leak and damage. He indicated he would send someone out after the storm to fix the roof and skylights which has been done. That brings me to now. Ive tried several (3) times to contact Handyman Roofing to resolve painting the interior area of my home caused by the leak. They have not been forthcoming and willing to give me resolutions or offer other solutions. My request for resolution is to let me hire a subcontractor to complete the interior work and change it back to Handyman Roofing. The Holidays are coming and this visually displeasing. I feel like I have given then ample time to resolve. Its been 3- weeks with no answer or. Expectation, or consideration for the Customer needs once you taken my money.,,

I signed a contract on June 3, 2022 with this company because they did a great job on my best friend's grandma's home. The issue is that on the day the roof was replaced, Dave from Handyman Roofing was in charge of the crew and made some comments that were unsettling. I reached out to Supervisor Brian who came over to give me the quote and ultimately wrote up the contract to have the roof replaced on the next day June 16, 2022. The call went straight to voicemail, maybe he was off, so I left a voicemail asking him to please give me a call back at his earliest convenience regarding the comments made by Dave. Brian has yet to call me. A few days later I called the Orlando location office phone number and they said they would have someone call back. I believe Richard was the one who called back and I explained that I left Brian a phone call and that I had not hear back and proceeded to explain that per my neighbors, Dave said, "stop taking off the plywood, paint them over". I understand this is hear-say. I have no recording of this. The issue with this was that this comment, "paint it over", translated to staging the plywood so it looks like it was replaced when it really was not; per my husband asking around. Richard, with a nasty attitude, almost yelling, accused me of calling them robbers and that my neighbors didn't know what they were talking about. So why get so defensive about it instead of providing pictures since they took a bunch of them. I clearly explained and re explained that this was what my neighbors overheard and that this was the reason I was reaching out, to clear things up. I was charged for 13 sheets of plywood. Due to the comments made, my husband went into the attic and only 9 sheets were used. One free sheet of plywood was included in the contract so I should be charged for 8 sheets. The plywood is new; You can clearly distinguish between the color of new plywood and old plywood that has been there for years. Be fair, charge me correctly.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/13) */ To whom it may concern Mrs. ******** signed a contract with our company to replace her shingle roof, contract date 6/2/22. The estimator that provided the quote, ***** ******* is no longer with our company and will not be reaching out to Mrs. ********. The original contract was to replace the shingles, provide a wind mitigation and up to 1 sheet of plywood if needed. When Handyman's representatives came to tear off the roof we found that the shingle roof had two layers and per the additional terms and conditions on the back of our contract (see number 9 TOC) we charged and additional $40/layer per square. After completing tearing off the roof our supervisor noted that there were 14 sheets of plywood that were needed in total that needed to be replaced due to rot. We replaced them. Dave, our supervisor, later met Mrs. ******** and had her sign the additional contract that allowed for the 2 nd layer of shingles and also the additional wood. Dave also showed Mrs. ******** pictures of wood that was replaced. After the job was complete, Dave called our main office to let Richard know the job was complete on 6/16/22 so he could finish out with the customer due to the roof being financed. Dave also let Richard know about the extra contract and the amount. Richard then noted that the credit available was not going to be enough to cover the entire job so he got in contact with Mrs. ******** to see how she was going to pay for the extra work. Mrs. ******** then told Richard that her neighbor had overheard Dave say "just paint the plywood to make it look new" and would not be willing to pay for the extra wood at that time until the problem was straightened out. Richard said to Mrs. ******** that he was surprised to hear such an accusation and that his family had been in business for 40 years doing roofing and that if that were ever to be true Handyman would not be in business to long. Richard then told Mrs. ******** he would talk to the head supervisor and one of the owners, Joe D. about this. Joe then called Mrs. ******** and assured her that we had replaced the wood and made Dave go back to show Mrs. ******** the pictures again. Dave then went go back to the property immediately to show Mrs. ******** the pictures. After a couple minutes of talking to Mrs. ******** and showing her the pictures of the replaced wood for a second time Mrs. ******** said she was ok with everything. Richard then submitted the financing for the amount available and Mrs. ******** e-signed it saying it was ok to charge $7300 to her Wells Fargo Home Improvement card on 6/21/22. She then told Dave that she would pay the balance later online as her husband had the credit card. On 6/22/22 Richard had noticed that payment had still not been made and reached out via text and phone call. Mrs. ******** did not pick up the phone but texted back that she wanted a copy of the contract texted to her and that she would pay online. Richard texted her a copy of the contract immediately as well as Dave, and Richard emailed the copy of the wind mitigation that had already been mailed out. On 6/24/22 Richard noticed that payment was made but for less than what was owed. Richard tried to reach out via text but had no response. Richard created a group text with Mrs. ******** and Mr. ******** and reached out to both on 6/29/22 asking when Handyman could expect the final balance of $1360. No response. Richard reached out again in the group text on Thursday 7/7/22 letting the customers know that due to being unresponsive a lien would have to be placed on the property. Mrs. ******** then texted back asking for more pictures, that her husband went into the attic and counted the plywood and that she had gotten in contact with the BBB. Richard then reiterated via text that the plywood charged was the plywood that was used and that Mrs. ******** was perfectly ok with everything just a couple weeks ago but decided to just make a partial payment instead of paying the balance owed in full and that if payment would not be made by the next day Handyman would have to lien the property. Mrs. ******** told Richard that she would like to go through the BBB to sort the matter out. Handyman does not paint or stage plywood to make it look like it was newly replaced. The amount of time it would take, especially on a roof with two layers of shingles which is already difficult and time consuming to tear off, is inconsevable. To make a dark rotted piece of plywood look brand new would take a massive amount of time and paint, something that roofers don't have working in the hot Florida sun during the summer with rain constently around the corner. Handyman went to Mrs. ********'s house in good faith with a signed contract, ran into unexpected issues with the project, took care of the issues on top of tearing off two layers of shingles, dried in the roof and shingled it all in one day. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/07/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I agreed to the new contract, yes. However this was before my husband went into the attic. Perhaps I should have had Dave wait until 6:30pm when my husband got home, so they could both go into the attic together and count how many sheets of plywood were used. Handyman roofing has yet to offer pictures of the front half of the roof that would show the remainder of the used plywood which I am being charged for. How convenient that pictures were taken of everything expect the front half of the roof. Maybe Handyman Roofing would like to share the missing pictures now so we can get over with this and I can pay for the 14 sheets that were used, if they really were. Or perhaps Handyman Roofing would like to send someone along with Dave to recount with my husband? Or if I could get a BBB graded roof/home inspector to come out and verify how many sheets of plywood were used; would Handyman roofing adjust the contract accordingly? Unfortunately comments were made, trust was lost, and I want a correct count of the plywood used. I have come up with some possible, reasonable solutions as you can see, I am not trying to get out of paying for services rendered. If 14 sheets were really used then I will gladly apologize to Handyman Roofing and pay for what I owe. If not then Handyman Roofing can also accept that they miscounted and charged me incorrectly.
