Plumbing Liner work done at our house last year and one of the pipes has failed. We have a lifetime warranty on the work and product and Advance Plumbing will not return our calls to fix the problem. They say they are out of business, however, they are taking new clients and still ordering Perma-Liner from the manufacturer, which is the same product they used at our house.

I contracted with Advance Plumbing Technologies (APT) to line my cast iron pipes. *** completed the job on the evening of October 18th, 2024. I contacted the *** team on October 21st about the damage APT caused to my roof. *** ran the equipment to clean and spray line the vent and sewer pipes from my roof. The equipment they utilized and the placing of the equipment on my metal roof destroyed the finish and dented the roof. My house had a lifetime metal roof on it that is now destroyed. They ran snake auger style machines to clean the pipes. The vibration of the machines wore all the finish off of the roof, around all areas they worked (vent pipes). Also carrying/ dragging of the equipment across the roof caused dents and damage to the roof. During the process they also dropped equipment that slid down my roof resting on my pool encloser and hanging from power cords. I have pictures of all the above-described issues that occurred. I have offered to share all pictures and have requested *** to come out and see the damage. **** at *** said they usually put protection under all equipment prior to utilizing. **** asked me to get a quote for repairs. I called the original installer of the roof and received a quote after inspection of all the destroyed metal roof panels for $30,985.00. **** at *** requested a second quote. I got a second quote that included pictures of all the damage, the quote was for $34,848.95. **** from *** replied that *** would offer me $1.000 for the damage to my roof. I have pictures of the damage and the workers not protecting my roof and items falling off the roof during the process. Im attaching quotes and some pictures.

October 21 after Hurricane ****** and Hurricane ******, I was eager to start repairs on my home and get it back together as soon as possible. And *** was eager to be the first in line to take the money my insurance gave me. I found out the services that they would provide would be outside of the scope of services insurance would cover. In addition, I discovered that the home was needing foundation reinforce which was the priority over the plumbing system repairs needed. I was given a small amount of funds initially from the insurance company and am a single mom with two teenagers and no financial support from a spouse or ex. My income is all I have. My home is unlivable, I am living in an RV in the front of my home and the company refuses to refund me the entire amount that I paid. They are claiming that after 72 hours they can keep 20% of the total scope of services that were estimated, which is $18,000 and refuse to provide a complete refund to me, after repeatedly requesting a refund from them. There has been no services provided and every single ***** I must use to repair the home with what is covered under my claim. Any additional will have to be out of pocket expenses and I do not have that kind of money to provide this company. I am requesting that the company refund me around ********.

I called for the free estimate. ******* ****** came by and basically ramrodded me into entering a contract. They got me approved for a loan on a tablet in less time than it took to place the camera in the pipes. Lord knows what damage that made and how would I know the pics were my plumbing? Called and conversed with several employees, as I had a gut feeling and spoke with other contractors, and wanted to cancel. Everyone trying to convince me to continue. *** took 9 grand right off the top the day I signed. No work was ever done and I had to file a complaint w/the loan company. *** sent me a reimbursement check as the loan was closed. Now they want the 5 grand they sent me and are threatening me with a law suit. By law I only owe them cancellation fee of 20% which I am willing to pay. DON'T get involved with this company.

I made an appointment last year I made arrangements I took off and nobody ever showed all of father to call me to let me know that there will not. Gonna be a no call no shop so since they are the only company that has the technology to put a camera in your pipes. I called them again that was supposed to come today 1st. They actually send me a text message that I'm going to confirm my appointment on Friday. So then once it hits? It was supposed to be the appointment from 3:30to 530 today. Nobody ever called me or showed up or did anything so when I call them. They told me that somebody would be in contact with me never happened. When I did a review on? The. Company's when somebody called me and told me. This? The 1st time they're hearing about what just happened and that somebody dropped the ball and I just told the person. I understand you dropping the ball one time but you dropping the ball 2 times. That's very unprofessional so I would not recommend this company because they fail to provide me a service 2 times. Very disappointed and upset about it.

APT has thoroughly investigated this and only have one record of this homeowner calling into APT to schedule a free inspection. The inspection was set for an arrival time window in-between 3PM - 5PM and our inspector showed up at 4:52pm. We have GPS tracking on our vehicles to ensure that our inspector showed up at the address provided by the homeowner. We provided a GPS screenshot to the homeowner via email. After discussing further with the inspector, he showed up and pressed a "Ring" doorbell that should have video tracking as well. He waited several minutes, also knocked and reached out via telephone twice before he left. So we truly believe there is a misunderstanding and APT takes great pride on respecting everyone's time.

CALLING THEM TO GET AN ESTIMATE WAS THE BEGINNING OF AN ONGOING NIGHTMARE!!!! I live in South Florida and own a nice home. I received an ad through the mail about using the epoxy to put over the existing pipes. I never had any major problems except a clog here and there until they came to give me an estimate. That was the biggest mistake I've ever made. The guy who came to look in the pipes with the camera somehow got the camera stuck coming from the roof to the inside of the wall. The pipe coming from the roof had a bend and that's how the camera became stuck. I tried to help him take it out but they needed to break the wall to get it out and also cut my pipes. What a nightmare to say the least. They left the wall opened a huge mess and before they did the work to remove the camera, I had to sign a paper not knowing that it was to their benefit and screwing me. They said I had to sign the paper so they can get the camera out. I said yes get it out of my pipes. Now I not only have a wall with a huge hole but there is a clog I never had. I HAVE BEEN SO UPSET. I wish I never called this company. Extremely unprofessional and I wish I can post pictures of what they left me with. I SAID I NEED TO POST THIS ABOUT THIS COMPANY. I have tried to contact them and they said they are not responsible for the wall damage because I signed a paper and that any cosmetic damage is not their responsibility. I HAVE BEEN SO UPSET ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

We paid Advanced Plumbing Technology $28,000 to fix our sewer pipes by relining them. They have made them worse. January of 2021 APT came out for 3 days & worked on the pipes. They said it was finished. They sent us a video (that was not of our pipes). In February they came back & did more work because their underwriter wasn't happy with the job. Saturday night 7/12/21 we had our sewer pipes backup. APT on 07/15/2021 at 12pm arrived to take a video recording of the pipes. On Monday 07/20/2021 Manager Mr. M****** stated that he reviewed the video & stated that even though there are spurs, dips, & divots, in the piping, he doesn't believe that it is an issue. APT sent Roto Rooter to the property on approximately 07/29/2021 to film the inside of the pipes. APT on August 10th, 2021, APT sent out a crew to make corrections to fix the pipe again Saturday 09/04/2021 we had a second backup in our sewer pipes. 09/07/2021 we had a plumber come to the property & unclog the pipe. Plumber stated the pipes had not been lined, but had been coated. He said that APT did not properly chain knock the pipes smooth & did not fill in flat spots with grout. He, & other plubmers said it was the worst job they have ever seen. He, also stated that the pipes are now too narrow, & the coating to hard, to fix the pipes. They either have to be replaced, or plumbing ran outside of the home. We informed the owner named Mason C********* & Taylor Y******* of APT. He sent a crew out here to fix it during one day in August. It is still not fixed, & they may have made it even worse. The human waste & toilet paper is getting stuck in the flat spots & even backing up into the vent stacks. Proper warranty claims were submitted & we conducted a mediation. APT refuses to make it right even though there is a life time warranty. Owners are the same one's accused of sinkhole fraud. https://www.tampabay.com/news/localgovernment/dubious-sinkhole-repairs-raise-costs-and-questions-of-fraud/1208769/

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/04/15) */ APT is in communication with the customer and will be trying to work towards a resolution. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/04/27) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) As you can read above, the business, APT, wrote a response to BBB on April 15th, 2022 stating that they would be in contact with us to work towards a solution. As of April 27th, 2022 (12 days later) APT has not contacted us in writing either via regular mail, or email. Back around April 15th, 2022 they did make one phone call to the landline phone at my house, very early in the morning, & hung up before I could get to the phone. I immediately called them back only to get sent to voice mail. I tried again several times with the same result. APT did not try to contact either my wife, or I, on our cellphones, both numbers of which they possess. As APT conveyed through their lawyer during the formal mediation, they said that they refused to address the problem & refused to discuss it further. Obviously they are continuing with that strategy & have no intention of standing behind their work, nor honoring their lifetime guarantee. They obviously wrote their BBB response with the hopes that I would not, or could not, respond & therefore make it look like they were trying to make things right with us by correcting the problems. As you can see from the link in my original complaint, this company has a shady & almost criminal behavior of doing business. They have owned & closed (when they got caught) various business under the same name to include a sinkhole repair company & a real estate company. APT obviously lacks the proper training to be lining/coating sewer pipes. They also will not honor there warranty. It is my contention that the owners of APT, Taylor Y******* & Mason C*********, saw another get rich quick scheme by piggy backing on TV advertising by lawyers to help consumers get there failing sewer pipes fixed. APT was presented to us as the "expert witnesses" for a law firm and then did a hard sell on us to get the contract. This way they got paid by the law firm and by the home owner. I strongly believe that APT's Taylor Y******* is the same one running for Florida State Legislature at https://www.taylory*******.com/ If this is true. then the the voters in Florida need to do some background research before voting for him. If he is not the same person I apologize. I am now beginning the process of contacting new agencies with the hope of them doing investigative reporting into this matter, APT, and it's owners. I recommend that nobody should do business with this unscrupulous company. As of now we still can not use our guest bathroom & we continue to battle slow drainage of tubs & toilets. We are in contact with other other plumbers to give us estimates on rerouting our sewer pipes outside the home since APT has damaged them beyond repair. It is our continuing hope that the Better Business Bureau can help us resolve these issues. Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2022/05/06) */ APT has been in communication with the customer and have agreed to a site visit today: 5/6/22 to address any concerns that is from the work we completed that is covered under our warranty. Consumer Response /* (2000, 19, 2022/05/26) */ As of 05/25/2022 the Business, APT, has been in touch with us and we have reached an agreeable solution. I therefore would like to retract my complaint and advise you that there should be no further need for communication unless the company does not follow through with our agreement. Your BBB site was instrumental in motivating the company to make things right with our situation. Thank you for your help. In light of APT's willingness to fix our issue I would recommend them to others.

On 9-3-2021 Matthew M***** repair specialist agreed that my galvanized plumbing in my home was leading factor in our water being unhealthy to consume. He informed me that his company offered a solution to our problems that would not require removal of the pipes themselves but cleaning them out and then coating them with a epoxy resin (on the inside) that would then allow the water to pass without any contaminants from the pipes. The epoxy was placed on back order and was not able to be out sourced for the job until 2-11-2022. On the first day of the job everything seemed to be going according to schedule but on day two when I questioned the crew about the galvanized pipes they stated they had another crew that handled this issue. I immediately called APT and was informed that this was not part of my proposal. This would be a separate bid and would involve removal of the pipes, replacing them, replacing the stucco, sheetrock and repainting. APT feels that they are in no way responsible for this miss communication. My contention is that when Matthew M***** and I spent one hour and 30 minutes discussing my wife and I bringing drinking water in from town(23 Miles one way) that he new we wanted and needed clean drinking water. That was the sole purpose for hiring APT. The primary people that I am dealing with at APT include Tony D**** ************ and Brett T*****************. I believe that APT should finish the job that Matthew M***** and I agreed upon. I'm 68 years old and my wife is 71 living on a fixed income. We had planned on this being a once in our lifetime fix that we then wouldn't have to deal with the further hardship of transporting water from town. Did Matthew M***** and APT take advantage of two seniors. I would have to say yes in that a $14000.00 payday was in their future. APT should finish the job to include all the stated above. I am a disabled veteran cancer survivor of the USAF and US. Army.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/24) */ On behalf of APT, we apologize for the misunderstanding between our customer and field rep. We have been in communication with Mr. ****** since 2/11/22 to work through a resolution. Although our workorder specifically stated drainage plumbing and not incoming water lines, these misunderstanding can happen and APT has worked out a proper resolution with the customer to make sure Mr. ****** receives this added scope of work. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/03/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) APT plumbing stated that they were misunderstood when in fact they misrepresented their services. They took advantage of a elderly couple that took them at their word. Our water was to be improved from a non potable one in which we were unable to drink it without further health issues to one in which we would be able to enjoy healthy, quality water. APT plumbing resolution is for us to spend another $3800 dollars. Then the project will still not be done. An additional drywall contractor will have to be hired to repair further damages to our walls. A painting contractor will then be needed to paint over these repairs. Our original budget did not require any of these fixes as APT told us with their superior technology it wouldn't be needed. We do not accept APT's response as it makes no sense whatsoever. They took advantage of a elderly couple who trusted that they would do the work they were hired for. In order to make this right they should finish the job they were hired for. Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2022/03/22) */ Again, we sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding. However, to provide false accusations / slander about our company is unacceptable. There is a clear distinction between waterlines and drainage. Mr. ****** received our flyer/postcard in the mail that clearly stated cast-iron drainage plumbing. He called us for the inspection based on the flyer/postcard. Our inspectors are heavily trained and qualified to provide the results of the inspection, even providing the video footage of the drainage piping. Those videos are taken from the ventilation pipes on the rooftop and potentially the cleanout access in the yard near any city sewer or septic. The video we showed Mr. ****** was proof that not only the drainage system needed significant repair, but it clearly showed a "drainage pipe" with cracking, sewage water and even a frog in one of his drainage pipes. Furthermore, our contract / workorder clearly stated drainage plumbing in multiple areas. From our company's standpoint, we cannot be any clearer and more decisive for the business we are trying to obtain. Our website, marketing, even our phone number (866-SewerFix) is geared towards sewage drainage plumbing, not incoming water lines. We are a company dedicated to our customers and their specific needs and will continue to have that company mindset.
