Very poor warranty. After 60 days, one of the lenses fell out of the frame. Costa denied the warranty replacement saying it was not defective. What a joke. How could a runaway lens falling out of the frame not be due to defect when it was only 60 days old. They offered a 50% coupon but that is not what I was looking for. Either repair or replace under warranty or offer a 100% coupon. As an attorney, if I were looking for a proper solution, I'll bet a class action against Costa for similar breach or warranty replies would solve the problem.Costa Del Mar, Inc. Response

Complete illusory warranty. No wonder millions was paid out to settle a class action against them for their so called warranty. Buy at your own risk. This is the second pair that literally fell apart on me.Review from Michael M

I do like the product but Im very unhappy about the warranty. My decision to make this purchase was heavily weighted on the lifetime warranty that the salesman told me about. Ive never been the kind of person who worries about crashes or dirt on my sunglasses, I buy them to perform while fishing. When the glass shattered on the $300 past off glasses, the service department told me I had the choice to accept their repair offer at $135 or basically SOL!!!!That is far from the warranty I was sold and furthermore, they are racking in another ************************** profit with this offer. First off I am 44 years old and have only ever left a few reviews because Im much on computers but I felt like as much as they charge for their sunglasses and how they did not stand behind their product for me that others should at least beware before they buy. I bought new pair of fantail 580g online and when I received them the outside box had been tore open just enough for someone to remove the box the glasses and case were in. And one of the foam sleeve was missing from one side. Not sure if they had already been returned and shipped out again or what but we also ordered same exact for my wife and hers had not been opened. First time I tried them on it felt and looked odd on my face. The arms on both sides about inch from the frame turned outward away from face so could barely keep on my face. My wifes when straight back and fit fine just like at store. So I took glasses to bass pro shop because they sell costa. The guy working and his manager told me to send them back because it was factory defect. But after the whole online process just to see if you could send back my claim was denied even though I only had them 3 days. So I asked why and was told because didnt send proof of purchase so I sent in proof of purchase again and the person that helped me with that was great. Had to wait again to see if I could even get them fixed. This time it got denied again and was told it wasnt factory defect. I just dont understand why if someone paid you for your product you could or at least take the time to hold them in your hand and look at them and then decide if it was factory defect or not instead of just denying someone by pictures that I tried to point out in pictures but I decided I rather not waste anymore of my time trying to get them to help and I decided to send them back to costa and go with another brand that stands behind there brand. Good product but defective materials and a very scammy warranty process. Glasses broke after 8 months while wearing them in cold weather. Warranty process is absolutely worthless. Wouldnt recommend ever buying from them again.Costa Del Mar, Inc. Response

I have supported Costa sunglasses since the late 90s when they were a startup out of ***************. Had many pairs and warranty experiences. Their claim was a lifetime warranty and they were fair and honest, well until the sold to ******** which is a sunglass monopoly owning most big brands.I gifted my son a pair of Cayans which are a frameless design. Costa has reduced these designs and it has been noted that the lenses crack around the attachment points to nose piece and arms. They fail to use a rivot in frame and rubber washers on both sides to take shock of daily wear and opening and closing. They have openly agreed to this in past and honored warranty around it without question. Even had a class action in past and up until recently offered empathy and support to their ********* when son reached out as his lenses started the all to recognizable cracking they decided to blatantly lie that warranty was limited to a couple years. Interesting as we have the actual original box and its emblazoned clearly with lifetime warranty. Their call center appears outside ** and will not assist, suggesting case is closed. So their reputation is damaged with poor social media reviews, BBB reviews and complaints. Just finding the BBB page tonight popped up Reddit with same complaints. Truly a shame that a monopoly can so easily damage the reputation of a long standing brand that did the right thing. I currently have no less than 4 pairs with 3 unused, so you really think that avoiding warranty repair really is worth losing a long term wearer and supporter ??Costa Del Mar, Inc. Response

Absolutely my worst experience with customer service in my 38 years of life! *** purchased several pair of glasses and a lot of clothing over the last 15 years. I recently scratched my lenses and called to have them repaired. They told me that it was not under warranty and would be $150 to fix which I understood. I paid the $150 and waited for my glasses to return. After 6 weeks I called inquiring about my glasses and my claim was CLOSED. My glasses are no where to be found. They sent me a $300 credit saying I would get a free pair of glasses to replace the ones that are lost. After being transferred to the boss lady, she told me that they could only give me a $300 credit to replace the glasses and I would NOT be refunded the $150 for the repairs that were NEVER completed!! I tried explaining that the glasses sent to be repaired were $295 and then I paid $150 to have them repaired which is a total $445 invested in the glasses. Its simply a company that doesnt care about the customer and robs them of their hard earned money! Its simply obtaining property by false pretense! I paid $900 for my rhino prescription sunglasses Had problem with the left lens popping out when I was cleaning the glasses.Contacted costa and was advised to go to a LensCrafters store for repair . Which I would have gladly paid them to handle.LensCrafters advised me that the problem was the shape , arc, of the lens and they were not manufactured correctly which is why the lens kept popping out .After contacting costa again, I was advised that this warranty is not covered under prescription glasses .A lot of money to have to deal with this. I have sent numerous emails about my sunglasses that are falling off my face because the frame has stretched out over the first month I wore them. 1 out of 5 stars only because there is not the option for zero stars.Stupidly, I have purchased 8 pairs of Costa Del Mar sunglasses in my life and all 8 pairs except for the most recent pair I bought have been defective within the first two years. I like the way the frames fit my face and the polarized lenses are moderate quality. Of the 8 pairs I have warrantied 4 pairs but I will no longer be purchasing Costa Del Mar ever again. The last warrantied set of glasses happened two weeks ago and they did actually approve the warranty because it is actual bona fide issue where the rubber has delaminated yet again from the plastic on this and other pair of glasses. I have done exactly as they have asked through their warranty protocol but they refuse to send me a shipping label so that I can send the glasses to them for the warranty work. I have sent several emails in reply to their replies. They basically tell me to check my junk mail and I'm telling them that I don't have any e-mail from them. Instead of just forwarding me the e-mail that they sent me with the shipping label, they flat refuse and just keep sending emails? There is no customer complaint department and when you try to call any telephone numbers they have they do not pick up the phone and just say it's after hours. I now understand why this company has such low reviews. High price low quality product. They will never get another cent from me ever again.
