Showed up to the tag agency as they were closing and asked if I could come in with the last few people that were being let in right at 6pm. Date is 9/3/24. Security guard let one person just ahead of me in and I explained I was unable to get my tag fixed during the hours they are open since I work during that time. I had to get my plate renewed before starting a new job further away. They security officer was extremely rude as was the lady on the visit I had before. The customer service for the working class people that go here is horrid. Worse than that. They treat people like they are scum. Then the security guard said that if I gave him $50 in cash at the door he would go in and handle my tag renewal for me!!! Is that even legal? Why can someone pocket $50 of mine and renew my tag for me but I cant do the exact same thing by legitimately waiting in line. I have been homeless and unemployed for the last 2 years while living with and abusive parent and just as I was about to get all my affairs sorted out, I get offered a sketchy deal with the bogus security guard at the tag agency for Deerfield. Is this what we do now as a country? How many people have had to jeopardize their job by taking off to handle tag related issues in person during working hours for everyone else. I would like to see this agency hire respectful people and open the doors even for half a day on the weekends so working people have a **** fighting chance to take care of their needs. The security guard needs to be reprimanded or replaced.

Hello, we reached out to ************************* to find out more information. After speaking with her there seemed to be a miscommunication between her and the security guard. After reviewing our security cameras we found that ***** had reached our office after we were closed. We have very strict procedures in which no one is to to be allowed in the office after closing time, for security reasons. The security guard was trying to be helpful and asked if she had cash to facilitate processing the transaction while she waited outside. The reason he asked if she had cash, is  that he could not let her in if she wanted to pay with a credit card. He was going to have the registration processed and bring it out to her. The security was trying to help her but because of the language barrier she did not fully understand him. We have never had an issue with the security guard or the security company, on the contrary he is very nice and always tries to help and acomodate our customers. I have spoken to ***** and she is going to be helped and will not wait in line. She said she would reach out to BBB and explain there was a misunderstanding and her issue was resolved. Thank You, Deerfield Auto Tag Agency ****
