    After they installed a new ac we continued to have issues every time they had excuses for why they screwed up the install. Recently we had another issue, the technician called me back after repeated phone calls on a weekend. He said it was going to be $175 for a service call when we have a service contract for one year. After a few minutes of serious questioning his BS he informed me he will not come out. Making more and more excuses for previous issues. I had it and called another company. So it did turn out to be the issue they claimed to fix...it was the drain they installed at incorrect angle and other issues were found by the other company with incorrect installation. Don't waste your time or money with this company

    Wonderful company to deal with. Genuinely concerned about their customers. From initial proposal from ***** to installation of AC unit, it was a pleasure to deal with Island air. Would highly recommend island air.

    After spending over $5000 to install a new AC unit and Air Handler, I had to have Island Air come back out multiple times for failing parts (cheap capacitors) and faulty duct installation. Each time they fought me over the service fee, which I should not have to pay for poor quality products and service. Our AC won't cool our house below 77 degrees until after 9pm - and according to Island Air - that's not their fault. Somehow companies like this pass the buck to the homeowner as if we did something to make their work fail...they told me to call another company, so I did.

    I made an appointment with Island Air in May to service my A/C unit that was blowing warm air. They never showed up. When I called to ask when they were coming, they didn't record the appointment. We scheduled for the following day. They sent a rookie who was on the phone the whole time with a senior technician. He found no leaks but the refrigerant was low so he added 3 pounds. I'm no expert, but if refrigerant is low, there is a leak! He decided it was the thermostat that needed replaced. Took him 2 1/2 hours to try to change it out, but couldn't figure it out. I asked him to leave as I had other commitments. It had already been over 3 hours. He said someone would be there by 6pm to replace it. Again, no one showed **. ** July, the unit was blowing warm air again. I called them and a senior technician was dispatched the following day. He said the evap coil was bad and replaced refrigerant, again and charged almost $400. He said the office would respond to the invoice with a quote for repair of the coil. Never heard from them again. These people need to shut their doors, absolutely horrible service. Would not recommend anyone to them. ******* list shows five star ratings--I guess they deleted the others.

    On July 6, 2022 I had my central air conditioning unit serviced by a technician by the name of ****** who is currently employed with Island Air Conditioning. He gave my 3 ton condenser unit a tune by flushing the drain and adding freon. Unfortunately, the technician added R410 freon instead of the correct substitute for my unit which was R422 which replaces the R22 refrigerant that my unit calls for. As a result my unit stopped blowing cold air 2 weeks later, and when the same technician came out he told me that the coil was bad and the entire unit had to be replaced since it was too old to fix. I ended up having to replace the air handler, and condenser which costed me $5,500.00 and I did bring this to the attention of the service mgr whose name was ***. He only took responsibility for the incorrect refrigerant and did send me a partial refund of $360.00 of the $592.00 total that I paid for the service call.While I don't expect Island Air to pay for the new unit, I don't think it's unreasonable to get a refund in full since the service call as a whole was done in an incompetent fashion. At the end of the day all I ask for is the $232.00 difference which is a drop in the bucket against the $5,500.0 I spent on the new unit.Your attention on resolving this matter in a fair and amicable fashion is greatly appreciated.P.S.     Island Air Conditioning has been serving Palm Beach County and the surrounding areas since ****. We pride ourselves with providing excellent service at an affordable price. We are State licensed, insured and accredited by the Better Business Bureau. We are also ******************** every year for the past 10 years. We provide quality work and stand behind our repairs. On July 6th you called for service at which time we cleared and treated your drain line and also added Freon, your system was cooling and functioning well. Not until July 20 did you call again for service at which time, we diagnosed a leak in your evaporator coil and recommended replacement due to the age and condition of your system. The July 20th call was at no charge to you. After communicating with our Service Manager on July 21st, it was discussed and you were made fully aware that Island Air did NOT put the R410A Freon in your system that we added the R22 Freon. In addition, you were refunded 100% of your money regarding the Freon as a courtesy. (Prior to July 2022 you had called/cancelled back in April 2020; we had not previously serviced this residence air conditioning system). Island Air did not cause your 15-year-old ******* system to fail. We advised you that the system needed replacement. A survey at no charge to you was scheduled with one our Owners to give you a price to replace your air conditioning system, which you cancelled and replaced your system with another company.
