I called this company this morning and scheduled them to replace a broken spring. I was told that they couldn’t give me an estimate until the tech arrived. That’s a lie. When the technician arrived he looked familiar to me so I asked him how long he had been working for Dan’s Garage Door Repair. He then told me that he didn’t work for Dan’s, he worked for another company in Naples. I recognized him because he had done a motor replacement for us at another property and grossly over charged us. The motor retails on line for under $200, it took the tech less than a 1/2 hour to install and the bill came to $968.00. So I asked him to leave. I then called Overhead Automatic Door & Gates who gave me a price installed over the phone of $424.00 parts and labor. So I scheduled them for the repair between 2:00 and $4:00. At 2:00 a guy in black Ram truck showed up to repair the door. After he looked at the job I asked for an estimate and he started hemming and hawing and told me he couldn’t give me a price until he took it appart. I told him that his office already quoted me $424.00 and he said they never should have done that, so I called the office. The girl on the line asked me if the tech was in a uniform with their name on it and in a white van with their companies name on it as well. The tech was wearing a black tee shirt and was driving a black Ram truck. I hung up and asked him to leave, which he did without an argument. At 4:00 the real Overhead Door tech showed up and repaired my door for the agreed $424.00. The repair took about 40 minutes, the two springs were cut on site from a larger string, so the bull **** about not being able to give an estimate until the spring were removed was just that, bull ****. I don’t know if Dan’s is involved in this scam or not, I scheduled an appointment with Dan’s and I think it’s a strange coincidence that nobody from Dan’s ever showed up, just these two guys that when questioned both said they work for companies in Naples.

Do NOT use Dan's Garage Door Repair of Estero OR "Garage ************** I was overcharged by them to fix my overhead door. on 3/8/24 a tech came out and told me my motor was bad. During the replacement install I asked 4 times for the model#. 20 minutes later, he finally gave it to me and i looked it up online with no success. The tech actually gave the part#...he lied to me because he knew I wanted to look up the price online. After he left and the door was fixed, i found the model# and looked it up. I paid $950 and it sells at ********** for $179. I called the phone number 8 times over the next 5 days and was told each time that a supervisor would call me back. That NEVER happened. I drove to the location's address as listed on the Chamber of Commerce website and that address belongs to the Lee County Water Treatment Plant. I then called the fraud department for my credit card. Do more research than I did...get recommendations from others. Do not be in a hurry. Do not use ***'s Garage Door Repair or Garage *************

Quoted $3,200 to replace 2 garage door tension springs! After I questioned that and asked to see the pricing, I noticed it was $1,600 for a pair of springs, not for each! I quickly researched pricing and found that $400 for a pair of springs is on the high end of the market average. He wants to charge $1,600 ++! What business can justify a 400% increase? They are really trying to take advantage of people! I had them leave. The tech said he could do it for me privately which I declined as well!
