    On July 25th, 2023, I contacted a company named Lakeview garage repair services to replace broken springs on my garage door. In December 2024, I contacted a local garage company to repair a garage door that wouldn't open. The technician immediately informed me that the motor was bad and that the springs on the garage door were likely the cause because they were too small for the size of my garage door. I ended up ordering a new opener and another garage company came to install it. The technician immediately stated that the springs were too small and improperly installed. Like the previous technician, he stated that this was a safety issue and that if they are not changed, the new motor will burn out just like the previous one. I informed the tech that I had a lifetime warranty and immediately contacted Lakeview garage repair services. The receptionist reassured me that a tech would be out the next day to replace the springs at no cost. However, when the tech arrived, he stated that the springs required replacement, and that I would be required to pay for parts and labor. After contesting this, he contacted his "supervisor." His supervisor stated that he would replace the part, but that I would still be required to pay an additional $225 for labor. I contacted Lakeview garage repair services and the manager stated that approval was required from her supervisor and that she would call me back within five minutes. I never got a call back nor an answer after calling several times and waiting for over an hour while the phone rang. I would like a refund because I would like to have the springs replaced by a reputable company that can guarantee their work.

    10/31/24 was service and we paid $2350 for garage door repair. I called them after for a breakdown of the charges and exactly what materials were used and why the high price but they won't give me an answer. The tech said we have a 15 yr warranty but when I asked in the email where the paperwork is for it and what it covers they won't provide any answers. I asked for the item #s and serial #s of the springs and the belt opener they installed and we also told them the service person quoted us less for the springs than what they charged us but they will not reply to my emails. I just found out they are a mobile only service and when I click on the site on ****** to look at the reviews they are unavailable. something is very fishy with this company. They advertise as garage door repair asap but the invoice says it's called garage and gates with multiple phone numbers. I don't know the quality of the items used and online they run about $150 to $300 for a spring but they charged $750 for a spring and that's higher than what was quoted. belt openers typically run $160 to $350 but they charged $575. The reason it wasn't questioned at the time of service is because the tech didn't break down the charges. I asked the *** to break them down and provide me with the descriptions of the items and that's when we saw the inflated charges but they still didn't provide any description/item/serial numbers in the invoice. It looks like they inflated all the charges to get to $2350 without providing us with the proper backup for the amounts they charged. I don't know the quality of the parts installed, were they cheap or high end, but without the item/serial numbers how do I know what was used and how long it will last and if I will have any problems down the road with them. They won't even clarify the warranty. we feel that we were definitely cheated from this company.

    Found company as a sponsored listing on ******, where they were going by the name "Same Day Garage Door Repair" (but as per the invoice and phone number, the company is actually Garage Door Service ************) and had many positive reviews. Upon closer inspection, the positive reviews seem very fake and vague, while the real ones are *********** main complaint is that this company charged us an EXORBITANT amount to fix a garage door spring that broke. $29 for the service call, $375 for labor, and a whopping $1,326 for parts! I was not home when he began working. He was already partway through the job before he quoted the price to my wife. When I arrived home and began questioning the outrageous charges, the technician became very aggressive, but wasn't able to adequately communicate the reason for the charges due to a very strong language ********** order to avoid further escalation, and out of concern for the safety of my family, I finally relented and signed and paid. The job appears to have been done correctly, as the garage door now works. But make no mistake, I am NOT satisfied with the service. I would not have agreed to this amount beforehand, and I only signed and paid under duress. I would like the owner to do the right thing and provide me with a partial refund that makes the total price fair. What I was charged was beyond egregious. I would be more than happy to pay a fair price, as the job appears to have been done correctly.

    TOTAL SCAM!!! I believe police should be involved. My 87 year old mother had her garage torsion springs fixed the other day by this company. She said it was a little expensive so I asked to see the bill. In fact, they left no bill, but she had Lakeview Garage Repair, tel ************, do the work. When she asked the repair man why it was so much, he said she paid the same amount to fix her other door last year. She had the springs replaced and the installer put in 2 heavy duty springs an drums. HE CHARGED HER $4,094.89 for the parts and $375.00 for 2 hours of labor. I then called Olympus Repair (the affiliated company with Lakeview on the BBB website) and was told the heavy duty springs would be $190.00. I tried to call Lakeview twice for a breakdown of the bill and an explanation; however, after being on hold it tried to connect to someone but the phone just kept ringing. This constitutes elder abuse. I had my mother dispute the charges with her credit card company. When she showed me the bill for the other door from March 2023, it was more expensive at $4,935.95. It was the same repair guy and he also padded that bill which listed a new opener with track for $1,230.50 (same model available at ****** for around $315.00) and the torsion springs and drum parts for $3,430.42. All the installation labor was itemized separately. It seems the repair guy added an extra digit/zero on every part to pad the bill. The combined amount paid for the 2 garage door's sets of springs and drums with 1 new opener and rail was $9405.84. CRIMINAL! My poor mother was robbed.

Said he be back in 2 week and finish job. When I call they kept saying they were on backorder. When they came in they would call to install them. Never heard from them. I call in February of this year (2024) asked if I could have my refund for lock. They said that it had to go to board for decision. Call back in 2 week. 6/2/2023- had this company come out to fix my garage door because the spring snapped. They said I needed to 2 new springs and 2 drums. They were extremely rude and finished replacing parts and left their garbage from their truck on the side of my house. This was garbage from another job not from what they worked on. The very next day we were supposed to have a party for my daughter with a lot of kids. The garage door broke and got stuck and was off the track. I called them to come fix their mistake and they refused to come out even though it was a safety is*** for the kids. We call the office multiple times to have a manager call us back and they never did. I hade to call another company out to fix what they broke (one of the brackets on the door snapped, the cable broke and the door was bent and new springs(again)). The new company informed me that Lakeview did not install the springs correctly as well as used the wrong springs and they also stated that the drums did not need to be replaced like they said. To fix their mistake cost me another $1500. I have disputed the charge on my credit card for lakeview multiple times and they refuse to take responsibility for what they did. If I dont get a refund my next step is to get a lawyer and *** them for what I spent with them as well as what I had to spend to fix their mess up.

    2 transactions: 1/14/24 for *****; and 3/14/24 for ********; we called the company, they came to house, said garage door torsion springs needed to be replaced; they replaced springs which did not need replacing with smaller springs, inappropriate for the heavy door; we left ******* and returned in March; garage door failed and came crashing down, almost hitting my wife; we called, they came back and said needed a new opener, and we deposited ******** on 3/14/24; they used a sub contractor to install the new opener, who told us the original springs were fine and the new smaller springs were not appropriate and cost around $ 200, not $ *****; the new opener cost $ 600, not $ *****;

    I had the company come out to do an estimate on my garage. They priced it out and then I provided a down payment in cash and received a receipt. When a different company came out the individual said I did not need a new garage door, and the one they sold me was not as good as the one that I currently have, and all I needed was new springs. They then were going to get approval to get the springs and use the deposit, however they never came back. I called several times in order to try to get them to come out and just replace the springs and they do not respond. I still have my receipt and asked for a refund and have gotten no response. I spoke with small claims court and they said the amount was not worth the cost. I am over the age of 65 and feel I was taken advantage of.
