    Business response

    02/24/2023

This is a delayed response since the original BBB notification was sent to an outdated email address that has since been corrected.

The school was made aware of the complaint on February 3, 2023.  I initially sent the ********************** the following written response then met with him in my office later that day.

Florida Academy always welcomes feedback and input about the training process and interaction with our team members.Program graduates are successful professionals and technicians and regularly commend our instructors  for preparing them well. Industry employers frequently submit requests to meet and potentially hire Florida Academy graduates.Obviously, your experience did not meet your expectations. I would really like to meet with you to get more specifics to address the situations you highlighted. Please call me at *********************. *******************, School President

In our meeting we discussed the factors that contributed to his experience.  He admitted some of the information shared in the complaint was not from his personal experience. We also discussed factors in his behavior and possible lack of engagement on his part that might have contributed to his frustration. ********************** admitted his inference where nothing has been learned in the program did not accurately reflect his perspective. He actually wanted to say that he learns better with more hands-on activity and that he wished the program included more exercises where students could demonstrate what was taught in the lecture portion of the program.

Subsequently, we are reviewing and revising the coursework delivery process to incorporate more demonstrations and student lab activities. He agreed to do his part by attending all scheduled class sessions. Unfortunately, ********************** has missed a significant amount of scheduled class time.
