I have been taking my dog to Community Care Vet Specialists for some months now for chemo treatment because my dog has lymphoma. I read the reviews hoping this place would be a good fit for my dog in a more professional and caring setting. I haven't had many issues with them going there and it seemed to be fine. There were a few occasions where a staff or technician had an attitude or the tone of their voice was unpleasant, but I wrote it off as someone just having one of those days. I ran into an incident where they mistakenly administered not giving enough of chemo to my pet where I had to travel back a long distance to get my dog the correct dosage of chemo. Despite all that I have been understanding, and they have fixed their mistake. Today was the day I was taken back; after leaving my appt., I received a call back from Dr. *** which I was waiting on due to some signs my dog was showing after her administration of chemo. We had a discussion, and she stated her staff accused me of being 'snappy' which in her term's means being short. When someone is snappy, they are either rude or yelling. I never once yelled or disrespected her staff and been nothing but patient in the midst of all the chaos, mistakes they made and rude undertones from some of the staff. With that being said there needs to be some understanding, compassion and empathy with people and their pets especially when going through a sensitive time dealing with cancer. I was put into a box that I didn't fit the description and made me feel uncomfortable. Going through the process of chemo treatment is not cheap at all and when you have someone or people painting a picture of you that is not true, only things can get worse. I really thought everyone had not only my pet's best interest at heart, but mine as well.

Respect is one of our core values and it is our goal that all beings feel respected within our hospital. On multiple instances, members of our staff have reported interactions with you that were perceived as hostile and disrespectful. I gave you feedback that your behaviors were perceived this way by some of the members of our team, and requested that you modify your behavior to align your intentions with others' perceptions of you. You became defensive, did not accept this feedback and placed the blame on members of our team. I am always willing to hear feedback on how we can be better and I also needed you to hear the feedback I provided. After this conversation, you called back and insulted our hospital manager. You then called again and belittled one of our client service representatives' name and gender identity. I made several attempts to reach out to discuss a path forward for our working relationship to continue to provide care for ******, and you have not responded. I regret that we have not been able to collaborate towards a solution in this circumstance and wish you and ****** the best.

The fact that the company mentioned respect is one of our core values and it is our goal that all beings feel respected within our hospital contradicts everything that was converse with me and their response to my review. It really disappoints me that we now live in a world where people have trouble taking accountability and once someone addresses concerns or feedback about their staff and management, they take it and flip things around. The fact I spoke with the doctor in which was her first time ever mentioning to me about being short has now turned into multiple instances along with me being perceived as hostile and disrespectful. Also, when I gave my feedback on how some of the staff were, it then now turned into became defensive, did not accept this feedback and placed the blame on members of our team. When I called to speak with management, I was told by one of the staff she would be the next person in the chain of ladders, management then wanted to refer me back to the doctor which Ive already spoken to. After trying to explain my concerns, she became uninterested and short with me, which she then instantly stated she could send the medical records to wherever I was planning on going next and wanted to disconnect the call with me. I called the hospital back a couple of days later because I didnt receive my medical documents from my last visit and when I spoke with the staff member, she gave me a name which turned out not to be her real name. The doctor called and left a message twice only; not several attempts and asking how my dog is doing; nothing to do with calling about a path forward for our working relationship. In conclusion, when it came down to my intuition and feelings of uncertainty with this hospital, Im glad I did not proceed with continuing taking my dog to the hospital. If a whole business can turn your words around and demean your character; it says a lot about them. If I was such a person who was hostile and disrespectful, I guarantee I would not have been allowed to come back into their establishment, but to call and check on the status of my dog contradicts what management, and the staff has indicated about my character.
