DONT USE TRAN VAN LINES! ****!!!! I scheduled a moving pick up date for July 23, 2023. Before completing our call, I was instructed to give my deposit of $614.33. This is one of three payments that I would be making two equal a total of $1842.99. I agreed, and insured that I was packed up and ready for the movers to arrive with my money order in hand to complete the 50% of my total that I was quoted for. After the movers had all of my items on the truck and I was in an empty apartment with the movers, the movers change my moving costs from. $1842.99 to $3400. When I asked for an explanation, I was told that they assumed my furniture was smaller than it was, and because the furniture takes up a little bit more space in the truck than they thought. This was now my new cost. They explained that this type of thing can happen all the time, While getting a quote, they have random generalize sizes that they expect furniture to be in charge based off of that. They also told me that because my money order was not 50% of the new total that they would not be delivering my items, and that I would have to leave my items in Texas in a storage unit with them that I would not have access to until they received 50% of the new total which would be $1558 more! This is a very clear bait and switch. My entire life is being held hostage on the truck in the state that is literally in a different time zone from where I currently live. For the last five days, I have been calling and trying to get it resolved, and being promised that I will be called back that never comes.Review from Chimere H

Bait and switch! Trust the complaints they are way to many of the same complaints, hence their 3 star rating. This company was provide to me through a broker in which *************************** LLC did not mention that they were a broker company. I will lose all of my furniture because this company is charging me **** outside my budget. I sign a contract with *************************** $******* to only be handed over to Trans Van Lines in which did not honor the contract I signed with Interstate. The formant is very rude and unprofessional for taking my things off his truck and unpacking my things because he refuse to move my thing for ******* unless i revised the contract. I not choice being that my belongs had to out of that place and it was already after hours so I couldn't make any immediate arrangements plus lose a ******* deposit. BEWARE SCAMMERS!Review from Susan R

I made a cross country move from Oklahoma to Florida. I had about a four bedroom house of furniture with some oversized items. Also patio furniture. The people in the office were fine, however the move was horrible. They tried to go above the initial estimate which was already $16,000. Agreement was that all items would be delivered to Florida and assembled. Many large and small items were somehow lost along the way with no one taking responsibility, including the foreman/supervisor of the move. All patio furniture was lost, 10 feet tall ends to entertainment center were lost (original cost of entertainment center was about $5,000). Additional large items were lost. When I asked the company how to locate missing items all I received was constant passing the buck on responsibility. None of the furniture was assembled, so I received more excuses and left with total mess of unassembled furniture in my house (looked like a hurricane hit my home). For $16,000 I think they should have done a much better job. As I was making this move by myself, I truly feel taken advantage of as a female. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!!Review from Anne G

My mother hired this company to move the contents of her 3 bedroom home from Florida to Georgia to be closer to family after the death of my stepfather. The estimate they gave was lower than the company she had previously engaged and they said that her furniture and personal belongings would be delivered within 0-7 days. Once the contract was signed, they became a different company to deal with. Instead of 0-7 days, they now say 0-7 *business* days. We are now on day 10/day 6 business because there was a holiday, and we have no information as to when the furniture will be delivered. My mother has called multiple times with no information beyond Dont worry. I spoke with the dispatcher, who is responsible for scheduling deliveries, this morning. At first she filibustered me by speaking over me and repeating the word, Maam, as I tried to get any information on when this would be escalated. Then she simply hung up on me. I called back to a recorded customer service line, got the same woman, and she at least let me ask questions without blocking me entirely. I still have no concrete information as to when this will be resolved, but will be calling back on Monday morning and every day thereafter until we secure a delivery date.Review from James C

Where do I begin? Trans Van Lines came from ****** to ****** on moving day. Immediately, they more than doubled the estimate we'd been given by *********************, broker who has referred us to them. They blamed New Leaf, but it really appeared to be a situation where they were complicit in bilking customers. Because of a tight moving schedule that could not be changed, we were stuck. They did a terrible job packing things, not wrapping up fragile items (such as our wooden dining room table) carefully, then taking non-fragile items (such as a coffee coaster) and wrapping it ** in absurd amounts of bubble wrap. The table had three broken legs that had to be fixed after delivery. Numerous other items were crushed (including a bookcase) and many had water damage. Communication from this company was terrible, and I had to keep calling just to get any kind of an update. There was little effort to empathize, and I always had the feeling I was imposing on them just to pry loose any kind of information on delivery status. The only reason I am giving a 2 star was for the heroic effort a team of two honest brothers made when they delivered our things at destination. Otherwise, this experience was one I'd not want to live again. Find another company. You'll be better off.Review from Sarah C

************************************ hired Trans Van Lines to pick up our 112 items, (boxes and a couple pieces of furniture). We were in *************, *******. That went well as men wrapped and appeared to be careful with our items. We were told delivery to **********, ******** would be less than 14 days. 15 days later they called and said delivery would be the next day unless we wanted delivery that afternoon, late. So technically they were 1 day late. Upon arrival they parked less than 1/2 blk away. Walked over and told us the trees in front of our house will scratch there truck so they couldnt deliver our things. But for ****** CASH they will walk our items over. The trees were NOT low enough to touch there truck. The truck was NOT brand new and there excuse was NOT valid. We rented a uhaul for *****, they put our things in the uhaul. They put a HEAVY Rubbermaid, holding tools, container on my antique rocking chair so when we went to unload it from the uhaul the wood arm of the rocker was broken and splintered. Several ********************* were either bent or cracked with damaged items inside. We were also missing a porta crib. It took 2 months for the Trans Van lines to resolved this issue after SEVERAL phone calls over those 2 months. Our cost and repair for damaged items was approximately ******. Which was light considering the rocker arm will cost most of that. We never did get the port a crib. They only approved ******. WORD OF WARNING TRANS VAN LINES is NOT a business to work with. ************************************ obviously hires any company to move your things., good or bad and probably the cheapest They thought nothing of them asking for ****** CASH to walk our things in. They didnt want to see pictures of the not so low trees or our damaged items. We encourage you to NOT work with them either.Review from Calvin W

First off we started by getting an estimate that was off by $1000 then they told us they were a third-party who gave us the estimate to guys came to the house and started charging my husband for every little thing saying they can’t take this they can’t take that they said that they lied about the square footage it was gonna cost more money than about going to the storage unit it was more than 10 miles when it was only 6 miles will never use this service again
