At first I was happy with the coating. After about 3 months, I noticed a crack in the surface, on the driveway. Since the ******* told me that it was guarenteed not to crack, chip, peal, or fade for 10 years, I contacted the company. After sending a picture of the crack, I was told I had to pay for the repair! Beware! The company sales people lie to you just to get a sale. Either that or the company does not honor their warrenty. I would not pay that much again just to have it crack in 3 monts, paint is cheaper!

The crack extends through the concrete. It's not the coating failing over un-cracked concrete. We ask every customer to review and sign our warranty policy that states in bold letters that cracks in the substrate (new or pre-existing) are not covered under warranty. We repair any cracks during the course of our work but can't control if the slab shifts. We offered the customer a no-charge color match sealant for the crack or a reduced rate repair when he sent the picture to us. The offer of the free sealant stands.

I reject that statement. Your OWN salesperson said it would not cracked for 10 years. Thr person that needs to be responsible, is your salesperson. I also contacted Shark Coatings and told them that the offer of color match and sealant wad acceptable, never heard back from them. This is just another lie from them.

I am completely unsatisfied with the $12k I spent on this for my pool deck. They came out 3 times and had to grind it all off and re-do and still it looks like shit! Plain and simple! I now have patches where the clear coat is all coming off and its very noticeable. You cant reach anyone of importance to get things handled properly. Theres no way to reach management. I reached out to my sales person recently to see if she had an insiders contact and lo and behold she hasnt worked there in quite some time. Im so disappointed in this company, my pool deck looks terrible and Im out $12k another company that has not lived up to their name

Our last recorded contact with customer is from October 2023. The representative that sold the job left for personal reasons several months ago unfortunately. We have a service line that if no answer a customer can leave a message and get a return call. We will reach out to customer right away to resolve any warranty issues that may need attention.

The product is good but the customer service is awful. Their representative told me that any referrals I give them will result in a $100 check to me when the referred person is under contact. I referred a neighbor and when I inquired with Shark Coating about my referral check I was told that the company does not give out checks for referrals. They said they are not responsible for what their representative promised to the customer. Really?Don't trust what they tell you.

We do not offer a kickback or referral fee. It is not listed in or on any of our documents nor does Shark Coatings advertise this in any of our marketing. The representative left the company for personal reasons and can't be reached. We don't encourage our representatives to say anything that's not backed up by our signed documents. It's not uncommon for folks to get multiple quotes while choosing a contractor and maybe another company is offering a referral fee? Sometimes people are mistaken with verbal conversations. We can only refer to our written contract for matters regarding monetary compensation. It's unfortunate that ************** is not happy but we have no record of this agreement. For the sake of peace with the customer we will send him a check for $100.00 which is more than fair considering no documentation is available.

The crew left a mess when they finished: flakes everywhere. They sawed a line into my baseboards with the grinder- the whole way around the room. The flooring was not level and went over the baseboards at multiple areas. Further flakes ended up glued to the tops of my baseboards and the metal pieces in front of my back and sliding glass doors. It took over a week before I could even get someone in to look at the issues. The project manager did not return calls when he promised or show up when scheduled. The companys solution was to just spray paint my baseboards, which would not cover the paint sections that got removed when they had to scrape flakes off, nor would it cover the ridge bored into the wood. This was not anywhere close to being worth the $2500 I paid. I am hugely frustrated and disappointed with this company and their employees.

We hired a professional painter to clean and repaint all the baseboards on this project. The baseboards were not actually physically damaged as customer stated. Just a discolored line and some flakes left on the surface. The surfaces now look better than before we performed the work.

The warranty and satisfaction guarantee were very important to us. They also advertised this as the best coating for pool decks. WRONG!! They have been back to our home twice and have redone the surface both times and it is now more slippery than the first time they installed the product. If I had to do this again, I would not spend the $10k. I would keep painting my cool deck every year. When you call, all you get is a recording telling you to contact them by email which they do not respond to and when they do they say they never received the previous emails you sent. I do not recommend this company or this product for wet pool deck applications.

The guaranteed warranty was by far the main impetus for choosing to spend $11,000 to have shark coating installed. The company performs a moisture test of your concrete driveway which supposedly predicts success. Mine was positive so I felt even better about moving forward. However, we had a horrific rainstorm prior to the day of Installation, and I voiced concern and requested rescheduling. They assured me it was fine and went ahead with the installation. Its been six months since installation. The company came out three times to repair cracks. One significant crack has developed in the same area and the company now states they are not responsible. They did offer to seal it at a cost to me. its pertinent to know the reasons they gave for the three separate visits for coming out to repair previous cracks. One, that the concrete was too wet to set. Two, the previous crew were inexperienced. And three, the coverage was too thin. I live in ******, Fl and the company also installed the shark coating on a building in our town. it also has cracks in it. Unfortunately, they have received a similar response, that Shark Coating is not responsible for the crack. A warranty can be worded to avoid liability as in this case. Writing a review will not remedy my problem. But perhaps it will help others avoid my situation. And choose other alternatives to improve the look of their driveways.
