Garage door broke afternoon of June21. Called them and someone was there within an hour. Replaced one spring (other side had been done by someone who said they replaced both), got new nylon rollers and full door adjustment. Very pleased. Young man named **** did the work and was professional yet friendly. Price was extremely reasonable. We live in ************, *******.

I called them after my garage door opener quit working. I asked the gal if she was an answering service or worked in the office, she said she worked in the office. I asked her if they had trained tech who could diagnose problems and not just sell me a new opener. She said they were all trained, they had been in biz for 25 years and techs carried all the spare parts on their trucks. So, I made an appointment. 2 techs showed up, I told them I thought the capacitor or circuit board was bad, possibly shorted out by lightning. They had no diagnostic tools, probes or meters to check anything. They said: ''You have two options, try to file a warranty claim or buy a new opener.'' I then related my conversation with their secretary before I made the appointment. They asked: ''What do you expect?'' I said: ''I expected an experienced tech who could diagnose a problem, not a couple of parts changers.'' One guy then begrudgingly got up on his ladder and took the cover off the opener and looked inside. Again, no diagnostic tools. He looked and said: ''The capacitor looks ok because the end isn't blown off, and the circuit board will be $300 ''if'' we can find one.'' I said: ''Ok, how much is the replacement you want to sell me?'' $699. I showed him the Mint ad that got me to call them, and it showed $299 for a new opener. He said: ''That's an old ad.'' I said: ''I got this Mint this week!'' I paid their $49.99 ''service charge'' and sent them packing. I would not recommend this company.

I needed a new spring ASAP. It was 8AM when the spring broke preventing me from opening the door, and, I had workers showing up at any time to install the flooring that was stacked in my garage. This is my second time using America's Garage Doors and I'm really impressed. The tech **** showed up by 9AM, quoted the price and completed all the work in about an hour. I only needed the spring replaced however, that wasn't good enough for ****. He not only replaced the spring with a stronger one because he didn't like the way the one he first installed handled the weight of the door, but he adjusted the travel both up and down, set the tension so the door opened and closed within DASMA Standards, reinforced a loose horizontal strut and lubricated all the moving parts, all at the originally quoted price. Not to mention that he's a really great guy, courteous and friendly. I highly recommend them for any garage work you need done.
