I lived in Belmont of York back in 2021, I moved out in 22 and was told when I moved out my final cost was to clean the carpet which was 250 and they would just take it out my deposit. I never heard anything from them until now 2024 I received a call for a collection agency that I owed Belmont of York 900 dollars which is crazy. When they sent a break down of the bill they charge me 700 for a water bill for 10 days and 375 for the carpet. I was never told about these charges and nobody could explain a 700 water for 10 days. I'm still in the process of getting all this handled. I do not recommend anybody staying here

This complaint is against the staff at Boathouse Apartments in Jacksonville, FL, managed by KPM Property Management. (https://karyamanagement.com/apartment-search/) Ever since I renewed my lease and moved into apt B-248 in 2020, I've had maintenance issues since the very first day with poor response by the maintenance staff. Here are the ongoing issues I've dealt with. 1) Microwave broken since move-in 2) Air Condition broken 3) Plumbing issues with sewer water coming up through bathtub, sinks, toilets, and dishwasher. 4) Water damage from plumbing issues and lack of maintenance response 5) Pest issues - ants, roaches and spiders are a problem due to lack of pest control. No attempt was made by staff or maintenance to fix this issue 6) Lack of communication - After multiple emails, phone calls and office visits, very little was done to fix issues. Staff do not answer the phones even during office hours 7) Notified them multiple times that I would not be renewing lease and turned in key on the last weekend of the lease and asked if there was anything left to do on my end to end the lease, but no information was given regarding end-of-lease paperwork or responsibilities. 8) Received a phone call from debt collectors saying I owe over $4,000 to Boat House, over 4 months after I moved out. I've never received any communication from them via email or phone except from a debt collector. I should not have any balance, as all rent and utilities were paid and the online portal did not show any balance. This property should be condemned, knocked down and rebuilt. The apartments seem like they are not in livable condition. I was tricked only because I could not see the actual unit until after the lease was signed. If you are considering renting at Boat House Appartments (400 CENTURY 21 DRIVE, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32216) Be sure to see the actual unit and test EVERYTHING before signing the lease. I would encourage you to look elsewhere and save yourself from misery.
