Everest Moving was the company who was supposed to help us move from ** to **. Upon initial calls we were told we would get a full tractor trailer and they would be moving a tool box and two motorcycles. This company did not make us aware that they are brokers hiring other brokers to find someone to move us. They would only call during work hours so it was impossible to have all questions ready and answered while we were multitasking. They removed many things from our packing list including the motorcycles and tool box. We were told this would be around $8,000 in total and they demanded not one but two down payments two weeks apart. They told us they would take care of billing and when our things were picked up they would charge another half of the bill to our account then upon drop off they would take money from our account. This was a lie, once the truck was filled the mover demanded $9,000 via cash, venmo or zelle. No other ways of payment were available. I had to borrow money from a family member of $7,000 to make this man happy and bring my stuff to my new house. Upon arrival we were told we owed another $4,000. In total we paid over $`12,000 for a move we were told would be $8,000 with no one answering calls after our things were on a truck somewhere in the US. No calls back and no one to explain why checks and wires were not available to be a payment resource. This has cost us not just a substantial amount of money but time and extreme stress making our move the hardest most anxiety rattling experience ever. On top of all this, there was extreme amounts of damage to our belongings such as our antique bed frame has been hit making pieces fall off it and is unrepairable, a standing saw now has one bent leg, and multiple boxes have been destroyed damaging everything packed

I contracted Everest Moving LLC to move my belongings from San Francisco to New York. Everest subcontracted ***********. ******* and Everest have failed to provide the services contracted in terms of timing and cost; and Everest has essentially said "it's not my problem" and has refused to help despite the contract clearly stating they are required to work in my best interest. First, my belongings were contracted to be picked up on July 14th. ******* called to inform me that my things would be picked up on the 13th and I was going to have to work with that because they were "busy" on the 14th. I rearranged my schedule and flights to accommodate this. When they arrived, the movers tried to levy over $500 in additional charges all of which were a stretch. Everest stated that the things would arrive in New York in 7-10 business days. ******* then told me things would arrive in 3-30 days; another employee told me they would arrive in 7-15 days; another employee told me 3-21 days.********* then quoted 7-21 days and said they didn't know any more info and that I needed to talk to ******* directly. Eventually the receptionist at ******* contacted me to confirm delivery in New York. I told her they were good to deliver the items to STORAGE (which is the location listed on my contract), and very clearly told her multiple times that I didn't have an apartment yet so I couldn't confirm a delivery location or date yet. They then called on July 29th to say the things were ready for delivery to my apartment, despite me never confirming an address. They are now holding my belongings hostage and refusing to deliver them unless I pay an additional $600 storage fee and $600 redelivery fee. Everest has refused throughout the process to help with delivery, billing, contact, timing, etc. I signed a contract with them - not *******, so I expect them to help enforce their contract with *******.

I'm used to the normal qualms & delays that come with the logistics of a move, but I still do not know where my belongings are even located within the United States that were to be shipped by Everest. This complaint is for both Everest and ****** moving. My stuff was picked up back on May 29th and I was given zero timeline on when to expect my items. Since I had to leave the next day, I accepted the pick up from the movers and planned to call Everest in the next week to get more details. I reached out to Everest on Tuesday, May 31st to inquire about a status and was told by a teller that a customer service representative would look into the shipment and get back to me the same day. Two days went by and I did not receive word back, so I called again on Thursday June 2nd. When I reached someone, I was told the same message only this time with quite a rude tone. Nonetheless, someone emailed me back that day with a generic message saying it may take 7-21 business days, but that someone would be in touch with more specific details. Given the nature of supply chain & employment constraints I waited until the following week before reaching out. Still no word, a month later. I've contacted both Everest and the shipper (best4u) who have not given me any resolution. I have over $10,000 of belongings in the shipments, some of which will be ruined given the length of time ($6,000 mattress). I'm trying to get a resolution, but am at a loss of what to do now.
