    Prestige Dry Cleaners in ************** advertise alteration services. I paid for alterations with a fellow bridesmaids over a month in advance for a wedding. On 10/01/22 I paid fully for my transaction with them, $107.00, and in my receipt it stated the dates as well that it would be ready for pick up on 11/5/22. I called on 11/4/22 to confirm my dress is finished being altered and ready for pick up. The seamstress for the business, *****, said yes I should come in as scheduled on 11/5/22 to get my dress. Once I get there she tells me she lied and shes sorry. If I can come in on 11/8/22 instead shell definitely have the dresses done. She even has a cruise on 11/10/22 so she has to have all her orders done anyway and she apologized. Naturally, ** very upset she broke our contract, but I say fine, Ill come back they need to be ready because at this point this point the wedding is around the corner. After many dodged calls ***** finally gets back to me and claims the dresses are almost done. Once at the appointment the following day its clear she just started working on them that day. I demand she gives me my property back, the dress and a full refund because I paid for a service and she didnt provide it. Her and the woman at the counter refused to give me a refund, was rude, unapologetic, and would not give me my dress back claiming shes going to finish it. I called the owner ******** at ************** to explain the situation if he can authorize a refund and he said to just work it out with the seamstress since hes out of town. He was dismissive and kept ******* my calls after. We called the police, got our dresses back and both workers kept lying to the cop saying she has health issues, they cant find the receipts, etc. I have my original receipt. They ended up authorizing $40 each. But it never showed up in our bank statements so Im pretty sure they cancelled it the second we left. There were damages done to the dresses. This business is fraudulent.

    Earlier this year (April 5, 2022) I left a jacket for dry-cleaning at Prestige Cleaners. Having been a customer there for ************************ this business and had always been communicated to properly about any issues with garments (a tear, a missing button, a stain). In this instance, to my surprise, the jacket was returned with a completely broken and unusable zipper - the metal hooks were all missing and the zipper was unusable. Upon inquiring with the business, the staff themselves were surprised because no issue had been flagged with the garment when it was turned in. The staff even called the drycleaning factory to inquire.Following this, I spoke with the *new* owner (******), who insulted me, insisted they had not ruined the zipper, and that the jacket had been turned in with an issue. Most importantly: the staff's comments stand in contrast to this, as does my experience in 20 years of being their customer and how they have handled issues/damages in the past. I understand that ****** is the new owner, but this has not been my experience.I flagged all of this for the owner, who kept insisting the jacket was faulty and refused to refund me for the price of the jacket or to fix the zipper. He also communicated in a very unprofessional and derogatory manner. My daughter has attempted to contact ****** since then to attempt a resolution and he has not been responsive.Also important: worth nothing that since my comments, they hung a new sign at the store saying that new ownership is not responsive for damages. This sign was *never* there before, which you can see in all business photos online in reviews. The staff confirmed, in person, that the sign was put up after my call with ******.All in all, I have been very disappointed by the handling of this situation. Given my experience with damages as a long-term customer, I believe I am owed the price to replace the jacket ($139).
