I occasionally visit this location and within the past couple of visits have been charged a so called supply fee. I inquired previously what this fee pertained to, and their cashiers told me it was for use of plastic bags. I never had an issue with this, since I was being provided with bags to carry out merchandise. I am also aware this fee is charged in many places of business. However on 06/16/2024, I visited the business and wanted to purchase just one item. Upon arriving at check out, I was asked if I wanted a bag and I said I did not. My item cost $4.99 and on the screen detailing my purchase, there were two items - my item costing $4.99 and a $0.25 Supply Fee. I kindly reminded who I believe was the manager who was checking me out, that I did not want a bag. She did not remove the fee and asked that I enter my card to pay. I told her once more that I did not want a bag and this time asked that she please remove the $0.25 fee off of the purchase. She proceeded to tell me that she could not do that. I asked why and she responded, Everyone has to pay the fee to keep the prices low. I told her that this did not make any sense, as I was being charged for a supply according to their own system, but was not being provided with such. She became agitated and so I did not pursue the matter any further. I paid and asked for a receipt. She provided me with a non-itemized receipt. I requested an itemized receipt and she said she could not give me that, even though I had just watched her print one and place it in her register. They are certainly doing this with every transaction they make, and knowing how busy this business is (likely thousands of transactions per day), they are profiting tens of thousands of dollars off of this scheme.

Hi, we are sorry for your experience.  Unfortunately, our cashier did not explain the fee properly.  The supply fee is for all the necessary equipment that continues to increase in cost for the processing of our merchandise.  Things like the tickets used for pricing, the ticketing guns, stickers, plastic bags items are sometimes placed in.  It is not just for bags, or we would have called it a bag fee.  We again apologize and will train our cashier better.

On Jan 28, 2023, my wife was sold an expensive wristwatch which was represented as working (but simply needed a new battery) and having a solid 10k gold watch head. Being a senior citizen, my wife trusted the individual working at the jewelry counter and purchased it.When she brought the watch home, and under further examination, we realized that the watch is merely gold plated and that it does not work. The watch was manufactured in the mid 1950's, a full 15 years before the advent of Quartz (battery powered) watches, and thus wasn't simply in need of a new battery. On Jan 29, 2023, we returned to the store to request a refund or store credit. The shift manager, ******, called the store's manager and explained the situation. The store's manager vehemently opposed returning the watch. While the store does have an as-is policy on most items, the person working the jewelry counter represented the watch as working. This is false advertising.
