Orion 180 is a dirty company who needs to be investigated!! I've gotten a few emails from Orion over the past 2 yrs saying in my words if auto payment doesn't go through the policy will cancel on the next day, they send this out 10 days before the draft date. I've never missed a payment. They have a card on file for autopay. Then the very night that hurricane ****** formed they email me at 10pm on a Sat night 10/5 saying the payment didn't go through, luckily I saw it and tried to pay it manually but it wouldn't work so I had to put in a different payment method which worked. Called my bank on Monday they said nothing wrong with the card and no declined payments recorded over the weekend. Called Orion and all they would say is it's a known problem and they are working on it. 10 days later on 10/16 I received a letter saying first payment didn't go through and that my policy was going to cancel on 10/15... how convenient that the letter shows up the day after they set it to cancel. My policy is still in effect since I caught it and made the payment, but how many people didn't catch it? Dirty company needs to be looked at!!Initial Complaint

In September 2023, we bought our house. We had **** insurance but the mortgage purchased Orion. Orion was supposed to send our money back to us since we never requested their services. Until today, we still never received our ***** back. They claimed they mailed a check back to us on Nov 9, 2023 but it will take ***** hours to see if the check was cashed. I let them know we never received a check, and if someone else cashed the check, how do I get our money back. They told me with my mortgage providers on the phone, that I would have to go through my bank. How can I go through my bank if I never received a check. I want my ***** back please. Please help.Customer response

This is to report a scam where the agent is opening up fradulent policies by deceptive means. On or about April 27th or 28th a man came to my home stating that he would like for me to support a petition to increase minimum wages in *******. I am all for higher pay so I agreed. He said he already had my name and address from either my voter or tax registration and all he needed was for me to provide my email address, which I provided him and to confirm my phone number, which I did. The next week I get a phone call from a young man stating that he needs to to complete a home inspection for my home owners insurance. I advised him that I dont have insurance with this company and he said he would follow up with the agent. I then get and email saying that they are cancelling the policy in 30 days due to the fact that they are unable to complete the inspection. The policy begin date states 5/2/24, three or four days after the man came around with the petition. I called the company and advised them of the scam that is being ran on people and she said she alerted her superiors and would go ahead and cancel the policy. The scamming agents name is *********************** at ********************************************** and his phone number is ************. I received a cancellation email from the customer service representative, *********************. ******************************************************, phone number ************. I just pray that they done use my information to commit any other crimes.Initial Complaint

We have been using Orion 180 for insurance and paid almost $4000 as premium over two years for the property **********************************************************************. There was leak this January and cost a lot to repair. Orion's adjuster sent inspector and finished in early February and generated report of loss assessment. However, the company refused to pay anything due to an information error at sign on in 2022 (it was not the customer's fault or intention at all). What is more frustrating is Orion refused to even share the inspection report for me to understand what the specific damages occurred. They keep delaying the payment process and refused to even tell a specifc timeline (it is more than 1 month since inspector finished inspection of loss) and I have to bear the cost and stress of handling repairs. We ask Orion provide the payment and a quick settlement and business ethics for your loyal customer that paid 2 years of premium and even corrected your premium issue (with mortgage) out of our own pocket. It's not a big ask.Initial Complaint

Orion180 has been very unfair to me. They refused to renew my home owners insurance because I refused to hire a contractor to install a sink. I am in limited income and can't afford a contractor. I reported my bad experience with them on ****** reviews. But they whined saying my statements were false. And it got deleted. ************************* called me trying to force me to once again hire a contractor to install the sink. I am a single elderly female which is why I am being treated badly. I have not made any false statements about my bad experience with them. I am on a limited income and can't hire a contractor. Who are they to think to demand I do and inspection of my home. When i didn't even know they were my insurance last year.My insurance agent failed to tell me. They were the second home owners insurance to insure my home after I thought it was insured with another company before orion180.My home owners insurance paid them $2200 last year. All of a sudden I started getting emails from them demanding I do an inspections. Then I started getting calls from my insurance agent demanding that I do an inspection or my insurance would be cancelled even though they had been paid $2200.I noticed that other complaints other customers have filed against them. About their bad experience they didn't say they wrote false statement. Why am I being singled out from all the other customers who wrote negative reviews. I had 3 legitimate claims and orion180 was the only one to insure me. They also were the only ones to give me a quote saying they would insure my home for $4209 doubling the price. They are out of their mine. I never had an insurance company. To demand they do an inside inspection of my home. Then they were going to send an inspector to inspect my home not without my permission. They were orion180 had some nerve. Then they falsely accused me of being rude to them. Which I was never rude to them. They were rude to me and being unfair to me.Initial Complaint

I was informed by Orion180 that they canceled my policy. They recommended a new one (at twice the price), so I found a different company instead. However, my bank still paid Orion180 by mistake. Orion180 acknowledged the canceled policy and the payment. So, they issued a refund. However, they then put a stophold on the refund check they sent effectively keeping my money without providing me service. Even after I resolve this, I will be out so much of my personal money and unpaid time managing the impact of these questionable practices from Orion180.Initial Complaint

Complaint is for policy for a secondary home. I live out of state, which was known.29-NOV-2023: Received text from Orion180 (O180) stating that "your self-Home Inspection" was required to be completed within 10 days.Weekend of 30-NOV-2023: Wife travelled to home, reviewed self-inspection requirements, but technical questions E.g.-type of plumbing material, beyond her knowledge. Noted external inspection option was offered and necessary. 02-DEC-2023 (Sat): Called O180. No rep available, left voicemail informing that we did not have knowledge, so 3rd-party inspection needed. Requested return call.04-DEC-2023: Received call-back from ******** She stated inspection was not required within 10, but 30-days, so can resolve within timeframe. 05-DEC-2023: Received text from 3rd party inspector to schedule inspection for following week. Texted we lived out of state but would be at house from Dec 27 thru Jan 01. Requested for then. Informed work order issued by O180 expired prior to that, so needed to be reissued. I texted that O180 rep stated it was actually required within 30, not 10 days. I re-asked for the inspection for that period. Informed that "the insurance company and agent will have to reissue the work order, I cannot use a work order that has expired."07-DEC-2023: Spoke w/ my agent regarding work order expiring prior to being at property. Agent emailed Orion Inspection team to resolve.Since, I have spoken with my agents to resolve. They had multiple discussions with O180 and informed that because the inspection was "refused"/not completed within required timeframe, policy would be cancelled. Agent contacted regional representative on Dec 14 & 15. Informed that O180 would contact third-party inspector to "see if they could schedule the inspection during my available period", requested on Dec 05. Unable to schedule solely due to O180 issuing the work order for incorrect period of time allowed. Never refused inspection and made numerous attempts to resolve.Initial Complaint

Purchased homeowners insurance through Orion 180 on April 26. It was to start on April 30. ***** ***** paid Orion $2, 364.86 on April 28, 2023. The policy was canceled by me on April 28, 2023 before it even began. I requested that Orion send me a refund of the $2,364.86 immediately. I didn’t hear anything for almost a month. On May 28, I emailed Orion and was told that a check was mailed to ***** ***** directly, but it may take 30 days to process. I called ***** ***** today to find out if they have received the check and they stated they had not. I also called Orion today and they expressed that they never send checks to mortgage companies, however they are showing this check was requested to be sent by the homeowner to ***** *****. I absolutely never requested this. It has now been 15 business days and they have no idea where the check is located. There is no reason it should take 30 days to send anything. I want my money back immediately and I want others to know this company is a scam.Initial Complaint

To Whom it may concern, Sir, I am a decorated combat veteran who is 100% disabled from injuries sustained in combat. I fought for this country, and I need it to fight for me and my family at this moment in time. I am writing this letter for your help with an issue my family is facing. We signed with Orion 180 to cover our house for 2021-2022. When it came time to renew our policy with Orion 180, they almost doubled our policy from $3200 to $5250.18. This raised my monthly mortgage payment from $1500 to $2100. We immediately started looking for a new carrier and found State Farm in Oct of 2022. We signed the new policy and canceled with Orion 180. This is where we are asking for your help in resolution. Orion 180 has stated we never canceled our policy and received full payment of $5250.18 from our escrow account. Our current insurance agent ran a search to see what policies were on our house using ******************, and it showed only one policy affective 10-19-2022 State Farm. Orion 180 has been using dead hotlinks and other deceptive tactics to make it impossible to recover anything from them. I have called them to reach a resolution and they refuse to refund my payment. Saying they will only return two months back to our family. No matter which way you cut this it is just plain wrong! Sincerely, ****** **** **** ****** ** *** ********* ** ***** ************Initial Complaint

Orion180 is my new insurance company. They want me to do a video inspection of my home. Which I told them I had water damage that I'm repairing and that I'm almost complete. I wasn't going to be completed in 4 days for me to submit an inspection video. I get a call from katie with brown who is the agent. She was going to tell orion to cancel it today. Which is not what I said. I have never refused to do an inspection. Now they have put my insurance to cancel within 30 days. Orion180 isn't having any mercy or grace on me. I had been sick with the flu for the day in finishing the reports. I don't want them to see how my home is in disarray. But I have 30 days to do the inspection. But katie from brown has threatened me to tell orion180 to go ahead and cancel my insurance today. 03/24/2023. This is not being fair to me.
