Scam. You will pay too much money for mediocre training. I had an interview and the hiring manager told me she was surprised with my skills since she had had a lot of bad experience with people who graduated from here because they don't teach you everything you need to know, just enough to make you blend in like a chameleon until you're found out. They also say if you don't get a job within 6 months you won't pay and to email a specific email address and they'll refund you if you completed the applications and everything else needed to get you a job. I did that AND did the two extra contracts and even though I got a lot of interviews I was always told I was good but didn't have enough experience. I emailed that address and was overdrawn 500 on my bank account and told them I did everything and needed that refunded since the bank started charging overdraft fees but they didn't respond for two days. The cut off is 14 days and no one can afford a bank charging them $35 a day and I heard from other sources they will wait as long as possible until that 14th day and they won't remind you about it either hoping to be able to charge you. Honestly, the only people I would encourage to take this course are people who hold a degree in a relevant degree towards UX/UI and ************** or you're not going to get very far. This place also has a lot of rotating mentors that contradict each other on design critique which seems very unprofessional in my opinion and not where you would want to get advice on design skills. Also, they say not to do certain things with your design like not using gradient colors because it's "too loud and distracting" yet most successful app designs literally use gradient and some have won awards soooooo I call BS on these people. This is a money grab ****%. I got the foundation at $1997 and now see it's bumped to $2997.... Money grab people please steer clear.Avocademy Inc. Response

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand that your experience with our program did not meet your expectations, and we are committed to addressing your concerns.
Firstly, we appreciate your acknowledgment of the skills you developed during the program, as evidenced by the positive surprise expressed by a hiring manager during your interview. While it's disheartening to hear that you perceive the training as mediocre, this particular feedback highlights that our curriculum does have merit and can positively impact our students' professional presentation.
Regarding the job guarantee aspect of our program, we strive to be transparent about the requirements and conditions. It's crucial for participants to meet all the specified criteria to be eligible for the job guarantee feature. This structure is in place to ensure that both the participants and our program uphold a standard of commitment and effort. We regret any misunderstanding regarding these conditions and are always available to clarify any aspects of the program terms.
We take pride in the diversity of our student body, including many individuals who have transitioned into the field of UX/UI and ************** without a prior background in design. The success of these students stands as a testament to the effectiveness and inclusiveness of our curriculum and support system.
Our approach to mentorship in the program is designed to expose students to a variety of perspectives and insights from professionals actively working in the industry. We believe that this diversity in mentorship enriches the learning experience and prepares our students for the real-world challenges of design work. While design critiques can be direct and may vary between mentors, this approach is intended to build resilience and adaptability in our students, qualities that are highly valued in the professional design community.
We understand that design trends, such as the use of gradient colors, can be subjective and often evolve. Our curriculum and mentor guidance aim to balance foundational design principles with the recognition of evolving trends and personal creativity. Your feedback is invaluable, and we continuously work to update and refine our curriculum to reflect the dynamic nature of design.
Lastly, we are committed to transparent and fair pricing. The increase in our program fee is a reflection of continuous improvements to our curriculum, technology, and support services to ensure that our students receive the best possible education and resources.
We are truly sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction and the challenges you faced, particularly concerning communication and financial aspects. We take your feedback seriously and will review our communication and support procedures to prevent similar experiences in the future.
Please feel free to reach out to us directly at ************************************ if you wish to discuss your concerns further or if we can assist you in any way.Review from Emilio C

Do not go to this place for ************* They have so many mentors that they contradict each one. The Agreement says you must pay even if you withdraw out of the program. I withdrew and stated just unsatisfactory with the experience and they are still asking for money for a service I no longer am apart of. They are also hard to respond with. There are better services out there.Review from Christopher H

DONT DO IT! GO TO FLATIRON OR ****** I am a 40yr old, working, single parent who went back to school to retrain myself and stay competitive. The Avocademy UXUI Foundations program markets itself as a UXUI certification course that will allow you to "become a designer in 15wks".I paid, outright, $1,800 for the program, 90% of which consisted of links to third-party free content on ******* and free articles/blogs on the internet. I completed the program and received a certificate. Which, I could have learned all of it independently by myself. It was a completely gut-less program where students were essentially paying to teach themselves the material while helping Avocademy create the program and work-out bugs as we went along. Upon "graduation" I was told that in order to be actually "career ready" I would need to complete the 6 month Avocademy Career Jumpstart program where I would work on "real world projects" that I could put on my portfolio in addition to my capstone project from my prior Foundations course. In addition and most important to me was the promise of career support and the guarantee of a job or the program would be free. The Career Jumpstart program was awful from onset. I did two (2) real world projects for Avocademy for free and received conflicting, subjective instruction from many different "mentors" and instructors. There were so many holes in the program and turnover with staff that the school had to admit that they were still working out kinks.I never landed a job despite over a thousand applications. The job market is oversaturated and rapidly shrinking. However, Avocademy is saying that I still owe them $6,500 and are threatening to send me to a debt collector if I don't pay. There is more but I don't know if I have the room for all the things that are wrong with this sham school. This whole process was predatory, misleading and fraudulent but you don't have to take my word for it. *****, we are sorry that you feel this way about our program. I reached out to our student success team and this is what they shared:
I reached out to this student via email and via Slack several times with advice on how to best move forward with their coursework and job search. They were told over and over again to work on their portfolio, take advantage of mock interviews and complete all of the activities we have to help them succeed. They said initially that they didn't feel supported throughout the program so I tried to keep an eye on them but they just never followed any of our advice, never got the portfolio in good shape. They applied for 151 jobs according to our job tracking platform, all with materials that were not reviewed. We cannot help you achieve your goals if you do not follow the program and complete the requirements as outlined. Again, we are sorry that the format of the program did not work for you.
