David Whitson ***** ****** *** ******** ** ****** ** ************* ******* ****** **********) was issued an electrical permit on 29 November 2022, for work at my commercial property (***** ********** Santa Rosa Beach). David Whitson worked as a subcontractor for On Q Renovations. As of 16 February 2023, my property was issued a stop work notice by Walton County due to “unresolved electrical issues” and electrical work not to 2020 National Electric Code. I’ve tried calling David Whitson for a statement of work performed, since On Q Renovations refused to provide any documentation, and have been unsuccessful in him answering (although he did call and quickly hang up on Friday, March 10th. Since the stop work notice, I have hired two independent electrical companies that each found glaring issues with the electrical work performed. David Whitson was one of two electricians that pulled work permits and I am trying to find out who did what work, or specifically what he did.

i was only on this project for about 2months. I was hired by ON Q Renovations to finish work on a fire damaged restaurant which had been demo' by others there were no blue prints or dwgs. I completed the electrical rough-in, replaced fire damaged wiring in several locations, had power restored to the building, installed the electrical devices where i knew what they was. installed new lighting in the kitchen before this project was shut down do to legal action between the owner and GC. ON Q Renovations whom hired my company has detailed description of work sent with the billing. The owner had previously stopped work to have Walton Co. officials meet at the project site, at that time the inspectors had agreed that we were working to properly restore power. I do not want to be part of there legal action for either party as i was only on the project for a short time.

I am rejecting this response because: Bottom line, Mr. Whitson was one of two electrical contractors sub-contracted to work on my property.  Per the stop work notice issued by Walton County, as a result of “unresolved electrical issues” that did not meet 2020 National Electric Code work was halted on my property.  For the sake of accuracy, the stop work notice was issued by Walton County prior to the termination of On Q Renovations or any actions post termination.  Despite previous inspections and what may have been considered acceptable, the fact of the matter is there are existing electrical issues (again per Walton County).  While I understand Mr. Whitson’s concerns regarding legal action and so forth, my concern from the onset, with regard to Mr. Whitson, is having an understanding of what work he performed in the capacity as a sub-contractor for On Q Renovations.  Given the fact as stated previous On Q Renovations would not provide any documentation of electrical work performed, my concern moving forward is knowing what electrical needs to be replaced and what electrical is to code and can be left in place (i.e. a baseline of work so I am not paying for electrical services for a second time).  I have no desire to know the financial interaction between Mr. Whitson and On Q Renovations.  Lastly I understand Mr. Whitson has no obligation to provide a statement of work, again though Mr. Whitson performed electrical work on a property which construction has been halted due to electrical code violations.

    Sincerely,

As I already stated the work I had done was inspected and passed. It's an issue between other parties. I was only on the project for a short time

    Complaint: 19600273

I am rejecting this response because: Per the original request, I am seeking documentation (i.e. statement of work) of electrical work performed by Mr. Whitson on my property.  Regardless of what may or may not have passed previous inspections, the fact of the matter is a Walton County inspector on 15 February 2023 found multiple electrical code violations in the kitchen area and issued a stop work notice.  Given the fact I have no idea what work was actually performed by Mr. Whitson and the fact I have a stop work notice posted for electrical violations, I revert back to my original request of a statement of work performed by Mr. Whitson.  As stated previous, I understand Mr. Whitson is under no obligation to provide any documentation of work performed, since he worked as a sub-contractor on my property.  Given Mr. Whitson's reluctance to provide such documentation and my request to receive such documentation, I believe at this point this issue will remain unresolved.

    Sincerely,

    ***** *******
