Ascend construction recently updated a room for me that was damaged during a recent storm and everything went perfect. We had no problems. The communication was excellent. They showed up on time, cleaned up after the day was done and we were very happy with the outcome of the room. I would recommend this company if you need work done. The price was reasonable and no problems on that end. Thank you

I contacted ACR **** to review ceiling water damage caused by recent storm. The entire process was flawless from the estimate to the actual repair which involved replacing a section of ceiling, applying texture and painting the entire area. They covered the area and protected the furniture and floors during the repair process. In addition, the area was cleaned upon completion.I highly recommend ACR ****

I chose this company when my home was damaged by a water leak from the refrigerator water line in the ceiling. I was out of town when this occurred. My neighbor called to tell me water was running out my front door. There was water damage and/or mold in every room of my home.I was quite hopeful when I found this company. They had an A+ rating with the Orlando, FL BBB. I just read That the BBB does not take into account customer reviews when rating companies. I don't quite understand how BBB rates companies. An assumption on my part is the BBB only considers complaints. I do not wish to go that route since I am no longer ACR's customer/client.I have seen some reviews online for Ascend Construction and Restoration (ACR). I do not share the outstanding positive reviews I found online for this company.I do have a positive review for mold remediation in this project. I have not had any mold return in my home as of this date, December 07, 2024. The incident occurred June 06, 2024. I do hope the mold is permanently eradicated. However, I do NOT have a positive rating for several other restoration issues. Therefore, as a former client of ACR, my opinion is, I would never hire this company again.Hopefully, I will never have a damage situation which requires this kind of extensive restoration. If the BBB requires that I go in detail, I shall.Respectfully submitted.

Dear Mrs. *********** you for sharing your feedback and for acknowledging the successful mold remediation work completed in your home. We are pleased to know this aspect of the project has met your expectations, and we hope it provides you with lasting peace of mind.We also want to take this opportunity to provide clarity on the scope of work we performed and the level of dedication we brought to your extensive restoration project:1. Comprehensive Service and Support:When your home suffered severe damage, we undertook the challenging task of restoring every room, addressing water damage, mold remediation, content pack-out, storage, and rebuilds, where your other potential contractor could not do.Beyond simply completing the work, we worked directly with your insurance adjusters to ensure the damage assessment was accurate and aligned with your policys coverage. Our efforts significantly increased your payout from a little over $30,000 to $160,463.45. This allowed you to replace a 12-year-old kitchen, doors, floor coverings, and more with all-new materials.2. Unpaid Administrative Hours and Coordination:The extensive hours we spent coordinating with you, your insurance company, adjusters, inspectors, and other professionals, as well as providing detailed administrative support, were unpaid services performed entirely for your benefit.Even during prolonged periods of delayed payments, we continued to progress the project in good faith, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to completing the work.3. Going Above and Beyond:We didnt just handle the contractual requirementswe extended our support to your personal needs. This included watering your plants, opening car doors, delivering printed documents when you didnt have access to email, meeting you at restaurants for convenience, and responding to your inquiries on nights, weekends, and even holidays.Additional efforts included priming and painting walls in different colors as you requested, installing larger baseboards (upgraded from 2 inches to 5 inches), and accompanying you to select finishes and designs. We even arranged for contractor-only pricing to help you save on materials. These efforts were intended to make the process smooth and reflect our respect for you as a valued client.4. Payment Delays:Despite receiving the full insurance payout, you withheld progress payments to us even after the project was 95% completed. The only remaining taskresetting the countertopcould not be performed because of the lack of progress ********** resolve this matter amicably, and to collect the payment owed to us, we offered substantial discounts and agreed to the settlement terms you requested to close out the project. Its also worth noting that while awaiting payment, we continued working without additional compensation or interest charges to prioritize your swift return to a livable home.Your review is disheartening given the extensive efforts and care we invested in restoring your home. As a five-star, A+ accredited company with a long history of satisfied clients, we are proud of our track record. While we respect your right to share your opinion, we believe it is important to highlight the commitment and diligence we demonstrated throughout the process. We sincerely hope the repairs to your home meet your needs for years to come, and we wish you all the best.

    Customer Response

    01/27/2025

Apparently, my response to ACR's "selective" memory statements was too long. 1. If I did not or were slow in paying my bills, I would not have an excellent credit score. If ANY payment was slow, it was because ACR was slow in explaining the charges when asked. ACR asked for payment on a SATURDAY and a SUNDAY to be paid that day! 2. There are many sub-par finishing details not completed. I wish I could itemize each here. Example: I advised ACR I had left-over brackets from my previously existing curtain rods which ACR reinstalled. ACR's response was that the parts were in my house. Really? I have back-to-back back doors from previous owner. I now have a 10-and one-half inch threshold. My door is difficult to open and close. My headboard immediately separated from the bed frame. The backs of my curtains were melted at the dry cleaners. Mold from the water incident on my in-progress quilt was set in by the dry cleaner's process. Should have been treated a different way. There is so much more which makes this post too long. 3. Opening my car door? Since when is opening a car door a **** for a company? Isn't that a common courtesy. 4. Things were stored in my, ACR plastic wrapped porch, which should have been in a climate-controlled facility. 5. ACR lists items they performed which are part of any GC's responsibility i.e. Administrative, tasks, negotiating with the insurance company for item coverage, etc. 5. My home inside is painted ALL one color. Painter did not take info with him to purchase paint.I did not go into detail in my first review to not further criticize ACR. However, ACR made allegations that require a response. I wish I could go in to detail, but this program will not allow the length. Nevertheless, I have the detail. I will not respond in this venue to any further post by ACR.

    Customer Response

    01/27/2025

I did not originally go in to detail regarding the restoration of my home. However, the General Contractor (GC) has made allegations regarding me which, I feel, require a response.Firstly, I did not get an excellent credit rating by being slow or not paying my bills. If any bills were not paid promptly, it was because the insurance check had not cleared or ACR failed to specify what I was paying for.Example: NOV 17, 2024, email from me to ACR, I am trying to see how you arrive at your totals. I dont see all the monies itemized paid ACR.Also, November 14, 2025, from me to ACR, If you wish to delay the re-seating of the granite and not promptly receive that revenue, the delay is yours.I might also remind ACR that insurance payouts take a while to clear financial institutions before those funds are accessible. The last deposited check took 14 WORKING days to clear because of the size of the ******** addition, ACR sent me a text message on SATURDAY, October 11, 2024 demanding payment, TODAY. After much conversation, I responded with, Where do think I can get a Cashiers check on a weekend? Really?Again, October 12, 2024, SUNDAY, ACR texts, We would like to stop by and collect it [payment] tomorrow. That would have been a SUNDAY. I am not going to repeat all the back-and-forth messages regarding ACRs estimates for payment and ACRs lack of clarifying exactly what I was paying for. But perhaps ACR is referring to when I was billed by ACR for installing my kitchen cabinets, when ACR did not? Or when ACR billed me for installing kitchen drawer pulls, when ACR did not?I will refer to#1 in your response. The items you list are what General Contractors are hired to do. I did not hire other, potential General Contractors.#2 Coordination is also the expected responsibility of a GC.#3 Opening car doors. Really? I understand that to be a common courtesy. *** ALL of my walls are painted the SAME color because you painters did not take the paint provided information them when selecting paint.#4 I have addressed payments throughout.ACR referred to your, Profit and Overhead several times. ACRs P&O is not the concern of your clients. That is ACRs operational issue.Lets review some of the work performed by ACR. From the facts which I know to be true, this contractor, in my opinion, has a selective memory. CURTAIN RODSFrom previously existing curtain rods there are leftover brackets from your teams re-installation. ACRs response was ...should be located within your home.BASEBOARDSNot complete at corners, not cut to install. No baseboard installed next to my refrigerator.BACK DOORInstead of replacing JUST the inner back door, you chose to replace the entire door and door jam. Causing a ***** inch threshold. The outer back door is not level. I have a gap at the top which still needs molding to cover it.HEADBOARDI leaned on my headboard ONE time. As soon as I did, the headboard separated from the bed frame.WINDOW SHADE Cord not re-attached to the wall.BROKEN CHANDELIER- Given credit at my request. Nevertheless broken.DRY CLEANING Baby QuiltMold was heavily on baby quilt which I had almost finished making. It was sent to the drycleaner who set in the mold with their process. This should have been hand cleaned.Master Bedroom CurtainsThese were sent to the dry cleaners who melted the backs of them with their process.BACK PORCH STORAGEItems were stored on my back porch (which was surrounded in plastic and extremely hot). These items, such as boxes of quilting fabric, and a bedroom dresser were to be in a climate-controlled facility.WATERLINE TO SPRINKLER BY BACK PORCH-Someone apparently stepped on my sprinkler line directly parallel to my back porch when they were either installing or removing plastic. I cant prove that was ACR, but is the best deduction. One does not walk that closely to a cement slab.BATHROOM VANITY FLOOR TILEThere is a trench between the vanity and my floor tile. This was a result of ACR installing the vanity. It was left that way by ACR.MASTER BATH TILEAlso a trench left between new baseboard molding and floor tile.LINEN CLOSETMy linen closet is missing a shelf. All were there at the beginning of the project.I also have other examples but in the interest of brevity I will be concise. That is, not cleaning furniture upholstery at all, not DEEP cleaning the floor. A general scrub was done.ANYTIME I was advised a payment was due I immediately paid what was an accurate payment either on my credit card or once it cleared my financial institution. There was NO lack of payment on my part.WHAT substantial discounts? Are you referring to the charge for my kitchen cabinet installation, which you did NOT do? Or the charge for the hardware installation on those cabinets which you did not do?If you remember you were out of town when I was to make the last payment to your company for work accomplished. I deducted amounts which I did NOT owe, as indicated above. I advised one of the GCs I had deducted monies from these items and others. AND when you got back to please contact me to review the charges and payment. I did NOT receive any ******* the results of your work indicate, commitment and diligence we demonstrated throughout the process. as stated in your BBB post??Make whatever responses ACR likes. However, I do not intend to respond to any further criticism from ACR via this venue.Respectfully, CC

Ascend did a great job. They were punctual and hard working. I have a manufactured home that had a lot of mildew but looks great after the pressure washing. I highly recommend ascend. They also rebuilt a large deck for us from the foundation to complete and it looks great.

Ascend did a fantastic job on converting a dirty dingy garage into a livable space for me and my dogs. I moved in with my sister with my dogs and needed a space of my own. We started by reaching out to several contractors to obtain bids and get information on this conversion. The ones we spoke to seem to be dismissive (I think due to being women) and not particularly interested since we were not renovating the complete home. We found Ascend and were thankful to finally find a company truly interested in helping us. ****** and her team were easy to reach, clear on expectations and very easy to deal with; we made several changes in the middle of the renovation, and they were quick to adapt with no drama. They provided many choices on flooring and counters and the space turned out great - I cannot believe the space was once a garage. I have been living in the space for about a month now and me and my dogs are very comfortable in our new home. I highly recommend Ascend for any renovations - it was a pleasant experience.

Ascend came in when we were very lost and helped us get our house back in order. The fought tooth and nail with the insurance company to make sure that we got everything we were supposed to get. They didnt settle for anything less than what were owed. Then the construction part was absolutely fantastic. They helped to turn a bad situation into one that we are truly happy with. We have them our ideas and what we wanted and made it all come to life. I would give them 10 stars if possible!
