            Date of transaction - 12/08/2023 Place of Purchase - Kolhs Item Purchased- 21-Piece BergOFF Forged Knife Set Order # - ********** Price- $348.29 The 8" Chef Knife in this set has a crack (delamination) in the spine causing brown rust staining at that area. This is a defect in the metal, not caused by shipping or other damage. All other knives are good. I contacted the company over 3 weeks ago, and then again 3 days ago. I have heard nothing since the first email they sent back asking for proof of purchase and shipping information over 3 weeks ago in which I fully provided.

            The customer was contacted in a timely manner with a request for additional information.  The attached customer photo will show the knife has been exposed to excessive heat in the area of concern.  The customers photos also show exterior corrosion on the blade from what appear to be minerals in dried liquid.  Once the customer provides additional information requested by the customer support team a replacement will be provided at no cost to the customer.  If needed the email is ************************* again to continue any communication to assist with replacement.

            I am rejecting this response because:  This is a delamination that was in the knife when it was brand new. Minerals and subjected to heat? I think the even the people at BBB can see that this is a defect in the knife.   What kind of sorry excuse for a business is this over a single knife?  I will return this complete set from where I bought it, I will explain to them why I am returning a $400 knife set over one single knife and the show them the responses of this company in which is supposed to supply a lifetime warranty on them. I will then send this knife to a youtuber I know who a blacksmith that makes knives with this response and let him break it down on his channel.
