Chokanis Landscaping is unprofessional and did a very poor job. We needed a tree replanted and some sod replaced around the tree area. Not only did they lay the incorrect sod on our lawn, the sod they laid was dead. This after waiting 6 weeks from the time our old tree was removed until our new tree was replanted. I saw the incorrect dead sod being laid and mentioned it to the workers, who were clueless. The said that was laid was brown and dry. After reaching out to the company and sending pictures, the owner said that if we want the correct sod to match our yard, we will need to pay 500$ for him to order an entire pallet (we needed 12 pieces of sod) and the owner knew what kind of grass we had. The owner was the person who came out to our property and gave us the assessment so he knew exactly what type of sod we needed. Needless to say there was no follow up from the business, no attempts to correct the problem, and now we have to replace the tree ( that wasnt planted correctly and is now dead) and the sod using another company. All while dealing with our HOAs complaints about that part of our yard.

I’ve reviewed the images you sent, and I’ve also attached a photo we took from July 29th, which shows the sod and mulch as it was right after the installation and the tree alive and well. It looks like the second photo you provided was taken after that date, correct? I completely agree that the affected areas need to be addressed, and I understand your frustration with how the new sod took after we completed the job. We’re more than happy to make the necessary repairs and ensure you’re satisfied with the final result. We take pride in our work and our customer's satisfaction, we haven't been in business as long as we have with sod that did not take, such as these photos. Regarding the irrigation head shown in your photo, this is new to us. When we addressed irrigation concerns on your property, that head was not in the condition you’ve shared, and if it had been, we would have addressed it immediately. It’s possible that external factors, such as a mower or vehicle, caused the damage. That being said, we’ve been trying to reach out for some time, and had this been communicated earlier, we could have addressed these concerns much sooner. I want to emphasize that I hear you, and we’re committed to resolving this, but we need to have a line of open communication to do so! Please let me know a convenient time when we can schedule a call or visit to discuss next steps, including resodding the affected area.

Chokanis Landscaping, LLC NIGHTMARE. We had seen their work with a neighbor's property & decided to give them a try. Boy was that a mistake. After reaching out to the company in late March/early April, a date was set for late May to perform the job. Things had come up & we were requesting for the job to be postponed until August. It was at that time the company was asking for us to pay for some materials upfront, even after requesting to reschedule the job. After responding that this request is unacceptable, the owner of the company has threatened to issue a maintenance lien on our property. It was at this point we informed the company that we were declining their services based on the unprofessionalism & threats. Mind you, we were only wanting to reschedule the job but after the way the owner has conducting themselves, we refuse to do business with them. Also, mind you that no work has been done and he is still doubling down on filing a lien. Whether the work they do is satisfactory or not, this business interaction with Chokanis Landscaping, LLC has been a nightmare & I am posting this to prevent anyone else from the same headache.
