Total Cost of the Project: $11544.00 1st Payment on August 24, 2023: $8,600.00 (upon arrival of 1st insurance check) 2nd Payment on October 19, 2023: $2944.00 (had to front the money because second insurance check was not processed yet and Kayco threatened to put a lien on our house) Concerns: - We paid $150 to a gutter company to complete repairs, management stated he would reimburse us for the damages, but funds have not been received. He stated via text message on October 19th that we would receive the check in the next week. As of November 9th, we have not received the check. - My husband lost $250 worth of wages, missing work so the drywall contractor could make repairs. - We were expected to front money for the final payment, although it was being paid for through insurance. He threatened to put a lien on our house if we didn't find the money to give him until our insurance check came in. - Lack of communication: We were never notified that final payment would be due regardless of the status of our insurance check. We were not given a due date prior to being threatened with a lien. We were not told that a lien would be placed on our home 60 days after install if final payment was not made. - Careless work: His workers missed a piece of rotten wood on the roof, dripped water on the ceiling in the office, fell through the ceiling in the pantry, and forgot to re-attach our gutters after the roof was installed. (Management did fix the ceiling and replace the wood after we notified him.) - Lack of communication: We were not notified of any of these damages until we came home and found them ourselves. -Lack of professionalism: management was very disrespectful in his communication.

****, while i appreciate your attempt to destroy my business, it is completely unnecessary.  These attempts are no less drama filled than the phone conversations that we tried having where you couldn't complete a sentence because of the crying and yelling.  As discussed and described in the other areas that you filed a complaint, we understand and sympathize with the roof related issues concerning your roof replacement.  Occasionally things happen that are not convenient for either of us.  I guess you didn't feel like your other reviews were bad enough so you created this loss of work situation and wages.  As with everything else, you just had to speak up.  We more than take responsibility for issues that are our fault.  ******** has attempted to meet you with the $150, i will tear up that check and have it written for $400 to make up for this sudden loss of work day.  It's not an issue and we are not that complicated to work with.

You called here for an estimate and some financing options.  Fortunately for you, our highly trained sales staff was able to identify some storm damage and have your roof replaced by your insurance company.  After 60 days of waiting on insurance we run low on options as to how we can secure our payment so putting a lien on the house is the final option.  We contacted you many times by several different people throughout the process who had the same issues with you that i did which was difficulty communicating due to the crying and us not being able to get in any words of explanation.  If we had been able to explain this to you at any point you would have known that it was not that big of a deal.  However, we do appreciate the way you walked in our office to pay your final balance and threw your cash and change at our office staff and walked out and slammed our door as if this entire thing was our fault.  It would have been better for us to just have given you an estimate and let you go through the financing process than it has been by us helping you out.  I really do hope you appreciate your "free roof" and i hope that our outstanding installation gives you many years of excellent service.  I hope that the gutter, that blew off during a hurricane but we accepted responsibility for lasts as long as the roof.  We really appreciate all you have done for us after all we have done for you.  In 15 years of outstanding service this has by far been the most interesting transaction i've ever been a part of.

******** is meeting you at 5 today apparently.  So before he heads your way is there any other money you want to add to this check?  Just want to make sure that after we installed your insurance paid roof (that we brought your attention to), held the $3000 balance for 70 plus days, and have been blown up on every review site there is over money you owed and was clearly stated in the contract you signed in 2 places that payment was due upon completion that you are satisfied with the results.  As long as you are happy, we are happy.

KayCo Roofing put a new roof on my home and finished January 2021. In the process they damaged my porch roof which was not part of the project. They said they would repair it and I've been getting the runaround ever since. Covid was the excuse for most of the delay in 2021. First they couldn't get the supplies because of Covid. After that, the cost of the supplies had increased significantly so he needed to get approval for the increase. Then, **** *******, the person that they were using to do the repairs got Covid. After giving him time to recover I contacted him again and he told me he was behind on his work and he would get back with me when he caught up. When I reached out to him again after some time, it was more excuses. I was patient because I know Covid was causing problems for everyone, but when I started pushing them after a year, they decided to do nothing. I've tried talking to the owner, ***** ******, and he won't return my calls to discuss anything with me.

I’d love to discuss this but I don’t know how far it will get us.  Maybe you can call the lady and ask here if she wants to drop her garbage claim.  Since she made this claim I paid her $3k that she was trying to get from me and then still didn’t take this down.  She isn’t telling the truth and I hate that people can do this to companies.  I’ve been in business for 14 years and I can’t believe I have to defend myself against this.  We need to create a better consumer bureau so we can protect other companies from getting involved with people like this who just lie to steal
