The manager on duty, Camden, told me and my registered/service animal that we had to leave. My animal wears a vests that clearly displays “DO NOT PET”. 2 different patrons who were clearly intoxicated decided they would approach my animal and grab him by the face to pet him, without asking my permission, and he lunged at them. I was thrown off guard being that he clearly wears a vest (displaying his certification) that clearly states “DO NOT PET”. These two patrons who were visibly intoxicated grabbed my dogs face to pet him, without permission, and he lunged at them. He did not bite them, he simply lunged at them to warn them! My service animal is trained to aid and alert and these people who did not get consent to touch my animal took it upon themselves to grab his face to pet him. I am disabled and I am legally allowed to have my service animal with me at all times. He wears a vest that clearly states “DO NOT PET”. This is discrimination and breaking Florida law by not honoring my registered service animal and my rights as a disabled person. You have your locals that are obviously your “favorites”. I called and spoke with the manager on duty after we were kicked out. Camden (MOD) seems to think his decisions were validated and he did nothing wrong. This does not end here. PULL THE CAMERAS!! I am embarrassed and have definitely been discriminated against and completely mortified in front of the friends we were there with. I am speechless at the way me and my service animal were treated. Who do you have running your restaurant?! Make sure you pull the cameras bc my attorney will certainly be in touch to gather the camera footage to prove the way I was mishandled and mistreated. And you should also take note of your drunk “regulars” that caused all this to begin with. I have never felt more humiliated and discriminated against. Sharkys Panama City beach has violated laws that protect disabled persons with a service animal.
