MOG Tile LLC was subcontracted by ******* PMR Inc to install tile on a stairway. The previous owners had left several boxes of tile, bags of grout and cement, and other materials from the tile they had installed downstairs, which were to be used to complete the job on the stairs. The agreed to price was $700 plus another $40 for materials. We had provided $500 down payment directly to MOG Tile. After seeing the terrible workmanship in progress, we told him to quit the installation. The spacing between tiles from the previous owners in the downstairs room is consistently 1/8 inch, as you'd expect from a professional installer. The tiles for the stairs that MOG installed were so poorly cut that the gaps varied from 3/8 inch at one end of the tile to 5/8 inch at the other end of the same tile. Some gaps were 1 1/2 inch wide. One tile was broken, but glued into place anyway. From all the mistaken tile cuts that were not installed, the remaining pieces could easily fill two boxes. And that's on top of the roughly 4 boxes that were used to cover the stairs. The existing grout from the previous owners in the downstairs room is gray, even in corners and behind furniture, and appears to be recently installed. The new grout that MOG installed on the stairs is bright white, in extreme contrast to the existing flooring in the downstairs rooms. MOG requested an additional $675 to cover materials and extra labor (note that they were told to quit work before completing the job). Receipts provided from MOG for materials used on the job included several tools, among them a 25 piece drill bit set, caulking gun, utility knife, and 12 rolls of toilet paper. The MOG tile installation was so poorly done that we will need to rip it out, and the job started all over again. After having wasted all the supplies, we will need to purchase several more boxes of tiles, grout, and cement. For the additional materials, tear out, and installation of new tiles, we have received estimates of $1200.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/02) */ That's not me you have the wrong person and company Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/03/02) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Please see attached invoice detailing company name, address, etc. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/03/04) */ I don't agree. That's a lie never working for them don't know them if they continue to lie ill file a lawsuit against them I. THE wrong person Consumer Response /* (2000, 11, 2022/03/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) If MOG Tile did not do the work as spelled out on the invoice, the remaining balance on the same invoice is not due to them. We'll write off the $500 provided already plus the roughly $500 worth of tile wasted and start all over with a professional installation.
