Contract was signed and agreed to be complete in October 2022. 50 percent payment was made July 19th 2022. The contract was simply a signed proposal. We left Florida for the summer July 19th 2022 until October 13th. Work did not begin until August 22. During demolition, contractor shorted out the power box when removing built in plug on cabinet. After that day, the contractor claimed he could not enter our home. They found another entry, but did not trouble shoot the power problem. No additional work was done, except clean up crew, shortly after Hurricane Ian. When we arrived home, we called project manager to ask for an electrician, but originally did NOT agree to pay. He gave us an electricians phone and called for service. After troubleshoot the electrician stated that it was demolition who shorted out the power box. The contractor was billed after we disputed responsibility. After inspection, we noticed sub standard work on tile and requested re do on 3 occasions. After sending them out on Oct 22nd eventually in November, a different tile person did satisfactory repair, although we waited until mid November to complete job because of re-special order of replacement tile. Drywall and texture was also sub standard. Contractor had retextureo done but still un satisfactory as several areas were without texture and clearly looked patched. Late November we received cabinets, as back ordered. Late November,, Drywall retextured. Still unsatisfactory. Early December owner came to inspect and said he will send another texture person, and get cabinets aligned. We still have not moved forward and no contact as of yet, January 4th, 2023. Although it is not stated, we originally agreed the job would be done in October. Back ordered cabinets set job back until November 28. No other work has been done since. 20 weeks have gone by with no completion and minimum contact from contractor. I am generally the person to give them a nudge. Very frustrated, and disappointed.
