I was quoted one price and now they are not willing to make the adjustments and threating to cancel my policy if I do not pay the remaining balance which I was informed would be $55.37 and that is what I paid now they are indicating that I have a balance of $19.00

    Business response

    07/12/2024

    Hello ******************,

You are correct that you did request a change to your auto policy on 05/13/2024 to lower the premium from $66.85 to $55.37 per month. State Farm does not process policy changes immediately, so there is a lag from when the agent's office submits a change to when State Farm corporate processes it.

With that said, you paid your first installment of six in the amount of $49.35 on 05/28/2024. You paid the remainder of the balance due on 06/19/2024 in the amount of $17.50 for a total payment of $66.85. Because you had overpaid installment one of six, there was a balance due for installment two of six in the amount of $44.66.  You paid that on 06/19/2024 in the amount of $44.66. If you add up what you paid in total for both of those first two installments, that equals $111.51. That number divided by two equals $55.75, which is very close to the expected amount due of $55.37. In addition to this, installment three of six has been billed with an amount due of $48.07.

With that said, I think it should be clear that you have not been overcharged.  You had to pay more for your first installment payment after your policy renewal, but that was corrected after the policy change was processed and the billing department was notified of the change in premium.  You can also see the attached PDF document that *** make it easier to understand as well.

Have a good day and please let us know if you have any more question or concerns.

    Sincerely,

    ***************************************, Office Manager

    Jeff Evans State Farm
