I met with Matthew ******** on 8/7 of ******** Home Solutions 0528 LLC. Mr. ******** stated that the business belonged to his father when I requested proof that he was licensed and insured. On August 7th, Mr. ******** reviewed the estimate that included the scope of work. I am attaching a copy of the estimate. At this time, I provided a 50% deposit in the amount of $837.50. Mr. ******** tasked me over the next week to decide on paint and share this with him when he called to schedule a start date the week of 8/19. I texted him on 8/12 as he had not reached out to me to confirm a day and time. This is when a series of delays for different circumstances begin to arise that led to requests for more delays. I am including details shared via email to Mr. ********* On 9/4 Mr. ******** and I made arrangements to speak on the phone. I provided him with multiple morning times as he requested as well as additional times in the afternoon in hopes of making it work for the both of us. I recognized that he had a multitude of extenuating circumstances arising one after another, but I began to fill uneasy. On September 6, after he did not make attempts to call me as we arranged, I made the decision to request a return of the deposit via phone, email, and text. He returned my call almost immediately and I spoke sincerely about my understanding for him needing to delay, but that "For my peace of mind as your client, I need the deposit back to feel more like I am not being scammed." In essence, I asked to be the one holding on to our deposit until he was able to resolve the claimed personal matters on his end and ready to begin work. On the phone, he agreed, but then quickly changed his position and has withheld our deposit ever since. We were still communicating but as of Wednesday, 9/11, Mr. ******** stopped responding via phone, email, or text leading me to no other conclusion that he has spent my deposit on personal things and is avoiding me because he is unable to return it.

    Customer response

    09/20/2024

As of September 20th, my phone calls, emails, and text messages have gone unanswered. Ive never been disrespectful in any of them as I want to resolve the matter. Yesterday, I called Mr. ******** he picked up and then immediately hung up. At this point, Ive no other assumption but that Mr. ******** has stolen my deposit with no intention of returning my deposit or providing the service.
