I had contracted with ***********************, owner of the company, to do two projects: 1.remove and completely replace damaged insulation and vapor barrier under my house; 2. Completely renovate a bathroom and bedroom in my house. The work under my house was not done correctly, and I had to have another contractor come and re-do his work for $1,225. The renovation work was started September of 2023, and I advanced him $7,500 over a few weeks for specified work. While I was there observing, ****************** would come and go for a variety of reasons often leaving the worksite after only a few hours. Finally, he quit coming altogether leaving the job in total disrepair. When I was out of town he took pictures misrepresenting how much work he had done. Finally, I had to hire another contractor to finish the project. According to *******' detailed proposal, he did about $1,500 worth of labor and spent approximately $300 for materials for a total earned amount of $1,800. He owes me $$6,925. I have tried numerous times to have him repay me; he has ignored the requests. I had a Sheriff's Deputy speak to him, and ****************** confirmed all my points with some disagreement to how much he owed me, but the proposal and agreement very clearly show how little work he did. In addition, the workers who completed the job found a hidden collection of used/unused drug needles. We know them to be his due to having witnessed him with one earlier. After researching, we found that he had many criminal charges against him with drug usage and sales being among them. At the beginning of his work, I asked for proof of license and insurance; he assured me that he was working on those items and would have them shortly. I do not believe that he had them during the time he was working for me. I have the Proposal agreement; proof of funds paid him, pictures of unfinished work, a picture of the drug paraphernalia and many text messages where I attempted to have him repay the money he has kept for work not delivered.
