I had Huffs quality air conditioning *** Out for service on 4/12/2024 for a AC unit that they previously installed. I have a 10 year warranty with ***************** for parts on the air conditioner. The tech came out and installed the warranty blower motor. I was billed for labor and a service charge as I should be. However they also billed me for the warranty part. I spoke to American standard and they said the part is 100% covered by warranty and there should be no charge. I then spoke to Huffs and they said well we have to make a profit on it so we have to charge. I explained to them that they can not charge for a warranty party. They agreed to reimburse me for that part of the charge. Then on 4/15 they sent me via email a new invoice with a forged signature on it. The invoice says that the price they charge for the part is not for the part but for an additional labor cost. The original invoice was $90 labor, $118 for service charge, $350 for the motor. The new invoice says $90 labor $118 service charge,$350 regular labor with a big description of their extended labor. They then put a forged signature on the invoice and said that I agreed to this charge. This buisness is charging people for parts that are under warranty so that they can make additional profit. I have reached out to ***************** and filed a fraud complaint. For this service i should have paid for labor and service charge totaling $208 but they charged for the actual warranty part. When I called them out on that they tried to switch the invoice and forge my signature saying there were additional service charges on top of the 2 service charges they already charged.

    Business response

    04/26/2024

We are truly sorry for the misunderstanding and inconvenience this has caused our customer.  This was an internal glitch with our field software.  The line item description on the invoice incorrectly stated warranty 1/2 hp blower motor, which should have stated labor to install warranty 1/2 hp blower motor instead.  The $350 was actually the charge for labor to physically replace the warranty blower motor, not for the motor itself which costs well over $350.  We appreciate this being brought to our attention so that we can correct this internal issue.  After speaking to the customer personally, I extended our apologies and we came to an agreement to refund the $350 in question, which has already been processed.  We are hopeful that the customer accepts our apology and we can continue our business relationship in the future.
