There have been many mishaps throughout 5-6 months it has taken to get my hurricane lanai screen ordered and installed. The company, Hurricane Safe Products, and I have managed to resolve most of those issues. All I need to get this case resolved and for the two of us to go our separate ways (with no harsh words on my part) is for the Hurricane ************ to submit to me an accurate bill that reflects an accurate completion date and an appropriate period of time for me to submit the bill to my bank so that they can send out a check. The first bill I received was billing for a different customer. The second bill I received was on March 14th and it reflected a past due account of many months even though the screens hadn't been installed and the inspection completed until March 2nd. They sent a third bill that reflected a past due account of 2-3 weeks, since February 24th, again, even though their work wasn't completed until February 18th and the building inspection completed on March 2nd. I have sent many emails asking for an accurate bill and reassuring them that all I wanted to do is pay my bill, but they have not sent me an accurate invoice. Please encourage them to do so and I will pay promptly. *******************

Customer was accidentally sent an invoice with  the wrong due date for final payment. Customer was concerned that the incorrect due date would indicate that his final payment was past due.  The due date for final payment has been changed on the invoice to April 15th, 2023 to insure that his final payment will not be late.  This issue is now resolved.  Thank you.

Screens were not used prior to hurricane ***. Attempting to hang them we found several that weren't fabricated properly (not cut to proper size, straps too short or sewn on wrong side); many could only be partially secured because anchor holes were misdrilled with different bore widths, at angles internally or misaligned; insufficient supply of screws of the proper length were not provided. Hurricanes aren't selective about which windows to break,so for practical purposes we were unprotected. Only about half of the 28 screens could be hung by several experienced people (including their own ******* who they sent after we complained) working over a three day period. We subsequently met with the owners and sent two follow-up letters which remain unanswered. We take this as a refusal to assume any financial responsibility for what is essentially a faulty, unuseable product. Their only offer to us was for a new set of hurricane shutters at an additional cost of $22,000. The final Manatee County inspection report was issued, but several contractors have identified the problems listed above that seem to cast doubt on its legitimacy: Given obvious defects, this job simply should not have passed inspection. Most important, poor drilling caused distortion of several lead anchors such that screws cannot be reinserted. Affected screens therefore cannot be used again and are essentially useless.
