            I found Pro Painters & More, owned by ****** Blaydon, on Home Advisors (****) on December 22, 2021. After speaking with my husband who met ****** for the estimate, I decided to hire him. ****** asked for a 40% deposit out of the $6000 to complete interior painting and tile installation in my house. I sent the $2400 deposit on **************** to ********************************* ************ as requested (payment cleared on 12/24). Nothing was disclosed about the deposit being "non-refundable" until I asked for an invoice. On the 27th, ****** sent me the invoice; in it stated the deposit was "non-refundable." I questioned ****** upon receiving that email, he stated I didn't have anything to worry about, he sent me the invoice because I asked for it, but he has a legit 5-star rated business; he would not run away with my money. On the morning of 12/28, ****** told me he was going to finish painting the house by the 29th and needed the remaining payment. He stated the areas left untouched would be painted once he lay down the tiles. I was working in CT and never met him, but he was always courteous and prompt to call me back with explanations whenever I had questions or needed more explanations so I sent the payment on 12/28 after 8 am (cleared by bank on 29th). That same afternoon, ****** called, stating I needed to get 6 thresholds which he'd have to charge me an additional $80 labor fee on top of the $6,000, to install them. He further stated because I didn't have them, he would need to finish a job and come back the following week. Since that ******************** never returned to complete the work, stopped answering my calls, and gave me the run around each time I texted him. He kept saying he had a lot of work to complete, I needed to give him time and that I would not find someone as cheap as him. I requested a refund, he refused. I reached out to his wife, Autumn, nothing changed. Home Advisor attempted to intervene, ****** failed to comply. I'm seeking a full refund at this point.
